Tenor Saxophone Duet Tenor Saxophone - Level 3 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.591196

Composed by David McKeown. Easter,Jazz,Pop,R & B. Score. 3 pages. David McKeown #6286049. Published by David McKeown (A0.591196).

The Jellybean Jive is a fun and original duet written by David McKeown for two Tenor Saxophones.

The Jellybean Jive is one in a series of ten Easter-themed duets each written in a different American dance style. Jive originally referred to African American slang in the 1930s when Big Band Swing was the popular music of the time. The Second World War brought Swing and Lindy Hop dancing to the UK and British audiences preferred to call it Jive.

The Jellybean Jive is suitable for players at an intermediate level and above, with the accessible key and range balanced by the fast tempo, some syncopated rhythms and accidentals. With a playing-time of around one and a half minutes, The Jellybean Jive is a perfect upbeat addition to any performance program, formal or informal. Click the link above to listen to a full performance of the clarinet version of this duet on YouTube.
