Published by David McKeown (A0.592552). It’s Been a Long Long Time is arranged as a solo for one Tenor Saxophone with Piano accompaniment. It is the latter version that is heard in Endgame and the one that forms the basis of this arrangement.Musicians at an intermediate standard will find It’s Been a Long Long Time ideal for formal and informal concert performances. with both solo instrument and piano enjoying plenty of melodic interest. Piano,Tenor Saxophone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.587636 Composed by John Newton. Arranged by David McKeown. Christian,Gospel,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Score and part. 6 pages. David McKeown #4611369. Published by David McKeown (A0.587636). Amazing Grace is perhaps the best-known and best-loved hymn in the world. The writer, John Newton, led a dissolute life as a sailor in the slave trade for many years before marriage, along with a close encounter with death at sea, dramatically changed his perspective. He lived out his later years as a devout and charismatic clergyman in the English countryside, renowned for his direct and personal style. The words he wrote in Amazing Grace are an intimate retelling of his spiritual journey. The hymn was written in 1773, and was sung to many different melodies initially, but since the mid nineteenth century it has become most closely associated with the famous folk tune melody presented here, New Britain. This version is arranged as a solo for Tenor Saxophone with Piano accompaniment. The melody is played four times, each verse in a different style. The thirty second sample recording is from the Alto Saxophone version; if you would like to hear and see the whole arrangement then click the youtube link https://youtu.be/T4h91k9M8mcMusicians at an intermediate level and above will find this ideal for formal and informal performances, on both sacred and secular occasions. Piano,Tenor Saxophone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.587783 Composed by Scott Joplin. Arranged by David McKeown. 20th Century,Folk,Jazz,Ragtime. Score and part. 8 pages. David McKeown #4967657. Published by David McKeown (A0.587783). The mostĀ popularĀ ofĀ Scott Joplin’sĀ piano rags during his lifetime,The Maple Leaf RagĀ was published in 1899. Joplin lived for a while in Sedalia, Missouri and the Maple Leaf Club in that town is thought to have provided the name for this composition. It provided Joplin with a steady income for the rest of his life, and while he requested that it be played at his funeral, his wife refused as she felt it inappropriate. It was the first track onĀ Joshua Rifkin’sĀ famous 1970 revival recording of Joplin’s music and, never waning in popularity, it has featured in hundreds of films. This version forĀ Cello and PianoĀ includes all four sections of the original composition. The tempo in recorded versions varies widely between 72 and 126, so the marking of 92 is a suggestion only.Musicians at anĀ advanced intermediateĀ level and above will find this ideal for formal and informal performances. The overall performance time is around four minutes.Teachers will enjoy using this arrangement as a fun way to help with phrasing, syncopated rhythms and light articulation.Ā Click the YouTube link to hear a full performance of the clarinet version of this arrangement. Piano,Tenor Saxophone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.587703 Composed by Gabriel Faure. Arranged by David McKeown. Christian,Contemporary,Romantic Period,Sacred,Standards. Score and part. 5 pages. David McKeown #4810589. Published by David McKeown (A0.587703). Pie Jesus is the fifth and central movement of Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem. The piece was premiered in Paris in 1888, and underwent several revisions in subsequent years. The Requiem was performed at Fauré’s own funeral in 1924, but it’s only in recent years that this gentle version of the Mass for the Dead has received the international recognition it deserves. Contemporary performances in Parisian churches required the Pie Jesus to be sung by a boy treble, but in the concert hall, FaurĆ© always preferred a soprano voice for the part. This arrangement transcribes the orchestral score as a Solo for Tenor Saxophone with Piano accompaniment. Both the piano score and the solo part are included in the pdf file. The linked youtube performance is the clarinet version of this arrangement.Soloists at an early intermediate level and above will find this ideal for formal and informal performances. The rhythms are straightforward, and there is plenty of scope for expressive, lyrical playing. The slow tempo though will require good breath and tone control. The piano part is suitable for an intermediate player. The overall performance time is around three and a half minutes. There are many more top quality arrangements and compositions by David McKeown for you to browse at http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/publishers/david-mckeown/6203.
