It is a real epic of a piece, not dissimilar to Bohemian Rhapsody in the way that it moves regularly and swiftly through different styles, tempos, keys, moods and times. It is arranged here to suit a large ensemble and has an optional drum kit part for additional sparkle should a drummer be available. It features most of the instruments at some point and is exciting and challenging to play across the whole ensemble. Whilst challenging to play, this arrangement has been performed many times and is an impressive concert item. The song is a more accessible take on the 1970s progressive rock genre and was the most expensive single ever made at the time of its release. I have arranged it here for clarinet ensemble with optional drum kit, and kept it true to the original version. I have also provided an additional Eb clarinet part as a replacement for Bb clarinet 1, should it be desired.
