Pentatonix is the fourth studio album by American a cappella group Pentatonix, which was released on October 16, 2015.

The release date was announced on Twitter by a series of pictures featuring the five band members released over a five-day-span, with one band member added to the picture each day, culminating in the date being revealed on August 28.  It is the group's seventh release overall in their discography.

This is the first release of the band to feature predominantly original material. Pentatonix also marks the first time band members receive individual songwriting credits for the majority of the tracks.

Sing is a very up tempo cut from this album and makes for a very high energy arrangement - fun for performers and audiences alike.

William Byrd (birth date variously given as c.1539/40 or 1543 – 4 July 1623), was an English composer of the Renaissance. He wrote in many of the forms current in England at the time, including various types of sacred and secular polyphony, keyboard (the so-called Virginalist school), and consort music. Although he produced sacred music for Anglican services, sometime during the 1570s he became a Roman Catholic and wrote Catholic sacred music later in his life.

Libera me, Domine written for five voices is a great example of his work and transcribes well for clarinet quintet.

Joseph Bodin de Boismortier (1689-1755) was a French baroque composer. This piece is one of six sonatas Op.7 originally written for three flutes. It consists of five movements, 1. Gravement, 2. Allemande/Gayment, 3. Lentement, 4. Gavotte en Rondeau, and 5. Gayment. Simple and tightly-contained interaction between three parts. Enjoyable to play with not so high skill in technique.
The part notes include both for A and Bâ™­ clarinets.

PTX vocal percussionist Kevin Olusola describes Take Me Home as a Boyz II Men-meets-Toto song: I was thinking, oh how do you write a song that kind of combines both of what they do? He brought the idea to Kirsten Maldonado, the group's soprano, and with the help of singer-songwriter Audra Mae. We just wanted it to be five-part harmony, really simple; just an easy melody that people could understand, he explains.

Orazio Vecchi was renowned for his madrigals, especially his grouping of them together in a new form called the madrigal comedy. This was a light, popular, and dramatic entertainment form of the late 16th century, sometimes regarded as one of the precursors to opera.

Al bel de tuoi capelli is just such a madrigal. Written for five voices and scored here for clarinet quintet.

9 to 5 is a song written and performed by American entertainer Dolly Parton for the 1980 comedy film of the same name. In addition to appearing on the film soundtrack, the song was the centerpiece of Parton's album 9 to 5 and Odd Jobs, released in late 1980. The song was released as a single in November 1980.

This arrangement is scored for clarinet quintet. It is playable by intermediate players and makes a great encore.
