Clarinet Choir,Woodwind Ensemble Bass Clarinet,Contra Alto Clarinet,E-Flat Clarinet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1389162 By Tony Bennett. By Douglass Cross and George Cory. Arranged by Tetsuya Watanabe. 20th Century,Chamber,Jazz. 16 pages. N MusicPress #972694. Published by N MusicPress (A0.1389162). I Left My Heart in San Francisco is a widely known song by American singer Tony Bennett, written in 1953, and is one of the anthems officially recognized by the city of San Francisco. Since then, it has been covered by many artists including Frank Sinatra, and is loved all over the world, transcending national and ethnic boundaries. This version is arranged for clarinet octet or choir. The jazz atmosphere is brought to the fore by incorporating tension chords. Please note that some instruments include optional parts, so please use them as appropriate for your performing group. I also think it would be a good idea to add optional parts and play in Choir formation''.○Instrumentation   *...Optional Part Clarinet in Eb Clarinet in Bb (Optional : Clarinet in Eb)* 1st Clarinet in Bb 2nd Clarinet in Bb 3rd Clarinet in Bb 4th Clarinet in Bb Alto Clarinet in Eb Bass Clarinet in Bb (Optional : Alto Clarinet in Eb) * Bass Clarinet in Bb ContraAlto Clarinet in Eb ContraBass Clarinet in Bb (Optional : ContraAlto Clarinet in Eb)* String Bass (Optional : ContraAlto Clarinet in Eb)*.

The Solo Bass Clarinet flies high, and suddenly plunges the depths of its range, all resting on the wonderfully rich, sophisticated chords provided by the accompanying ensemble, a nice vehicle to show the expressive qualities of this great instrument! Francois Rasse was originally a Violinist who eventually became a Professor of Music at the Brussels Conservatory, and was once leader of the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. Some of his music is still in print. and I would encourage professionals and amateurs alike to make his acquaintance!

Clarinet Choir,Woodwind Ensemble Bass Clarinet,Contra Alto Clarinet,E-Flat Clarinet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.720555 Composed by Traditional French Carols. Arranged by Ralph Raymond Hays. Baroque,Christmas,Praise & Worship. 67 pages. Ralph Raymond Hays #3602977. Published by Ralph Raymond Hays (A0.720555). This exquisitely crafted instrumental setting of familiar and lesser known French Carols will provide a unique addition to the repertoire of an accomplished ensemble. The first movement, Ou S'en Vont Ces Gais Bergers? (Where Are These Gleeful Shepherds Going?) is based upon a tune attributed to Marc-Antoine Charpentier and brilliantly showcases the timbral palette of the clarinet choir. The second movement, Entre le Boeuf et l'Ane Gris (Between the Cow and the Gray Donkey) is somber and deeply moving. The third movement, Il est Né, Le Devin Enfant (He is Born, The Holy Child) is a familiar tune enhanced wth masterful Baroque style counterpoint. The third movement, Un Flambeau, Jeannette Isabelle (Bring a Torch, Jeanette Isabella) is given fresh exuberance with asymmetric meter reminiscent of works by David Brubeck.

Clarinet Choir,Woodwind Ensemble Bass Clarinet,E-Flat Clarinet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1169298 Composed by Simon Franglen. Arranged by Lisa Ochoco. Contemporary,Film/TV. 18 pages. Lisa L Ochoco #769652. Published by Lisa L Ochoco (A0.1169298). Avatar: The Way of Water, is the long-awaited sequel to the award-winning film from 2009.  The soundtrack for the new film was written by Simon Franglen, who originally wrote 5 hours of music to cover any and all situations in the almost 3-hour movie.  From Darkness to Light is a beautiful instrumental piece in the movie that shows off the beauty of the water.  On paper, the music seems a little too simple, but the chord progressions together with the moving parts make for quite a beautiful and memorable piece.  This arrangement is scored for clarinet choir - Eb, 4 Bb, alto, bass and contrabass.  One of the most important parts of this piece is what helps create the mood, which is where the part called “Shimmer†comes in.  In an interview, Simon Franglen said that an important part of the music is the feeling of light, and he achieved that by including shimmering sounds into his tunes.  With that in mind, this is how the “Shimmer†part can be played:  Hang a few keys (house keys, car keys, etc.) that have different pitches on short lengths of string.  Use a small metal or wooden object to lightly hit the keys to create little “dingsâ€.  Be creative with this percussive part!  You can use whistle tones, a little xylophone, wind chimes, etc.  The idea is to create a magical mood without overpowering the music.  Play this part wherever there is a note in the measure.  Duration: 3.75 minutes.

Woodwind Ensemble Bass Clarinet,Contra Alto Clarinet,E-Flat Clarinet - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.581881 Composed by John Gibson. Contemporary. 90 pages. JB Linear #3012617. Published by JB Linear (A0.581881). Klarifications for Clarinet Choir is a three movement piece for a large clarinet choir.  It is set for Eb Soprano (one player), Bb clarinet 1-2-3, 2 alto clarinets, 2 bass clarinets, and Bb Contra. This would be best in a clarinet choir with at least two on a part in the Bb clarinet section. Here is what Margaret Thornhill wrote about this piece in The Clarinet magazine, June 2017: The dramatic first movement is a dialogue between an eefer (Eb clarinet) and the rest of the ensemble, incorporating paraphrases of excepts from Bach to Bizet.  It is followed by a surprising second movement chorale with slap tongue, flutter tongue and finger popping intended to be individually miked.  The final movement is an exciting montuno, including a section where each person can choose which riffs to play. The 1st movement, Canons Firing From an Ever Rising Staircase, Or, Heed the Effer's Frantic Calls   To explain the title just a bit, the ever rising staircase is an aural trick that, if done precisely, sounds like the music keeps rising without really doing so.  This was derived from what is called a Shepard's Tone. The canons firing are not cannons! The bass instruments play small sections of actual canons (like fancy rounds) written by J S Bach, Mozart, and others. Each time the solo Eb clarinet (the Effer) announces the coming canon firing in a frantic sort of way.  The 2nd movement (Close Encounters with Basses) makes use of a number of unusual sounds on clarinet (or parts thereof) along with a few extended techniques that are fairly easy to play with the clear instructions provided. The altos, basses, and contra should be closely miked to be heard. The 3rd movement (Sometimes Free - A Montuno) starts off with a rich beat in the basses and gradually joined with the rest of the clarinets. In the montuno section there are 4 bar phrases each player can choose from to play during the 32 bars. They may choose what they will, either playing a different variation each time, using the same one each time, or choosing to not play for a particular 4 bar section. This is not a free improvisation, however! This is definitely for an advanced group of players. The 1st movement is also available separately. The sample recording uses Finale software in the 1st and 3rd movement, and John Gibson's recording of the 2nd movement.
