This piece has been arranged and adapted for Clarinet Sextet, wildly ignoring the original articulation and dynamics to suit an ensemble of Clarinet technicians playing at their best!! 
SOLEMN DANCE
Typical of Scott's style, the time signature is not a constant throughout, the added articulation is meant to bring out the extraordinary harmonies he employs, a particularly lush piece best performed in a generous acoustic. 
FUGUE
Possibly the most bizarre fugue that I've ever heard, in the original there is an Adagio beginning and coda, which is omitted here simply to get to the 'nuts and bolts' of this unusual fugue. Scott uses chromaticism in both the melody and the harmony, interspersed with soft landings, and hard tranches of vertical and horizontal passages that grow deeper and deeper. As usual the time signatures are, at times, random.

Stand By Me by Ben E. King for Clarinet Quintet, 3 x Bb, Alto and Bass Clarinet. There are optional parts for 1st Clarinet in Bb (Eb Sop Clt.) 3rd Clarinet (Alto Clt.) and Bass Clarinet parts in Bass Clef, C and Bb, so the arrangement can be played by a small Clarinet Choir if needed. A good addition to a concert, wedding, recital etc.

'Adagietto' From Symphony No.5 By Gustav Mahler.

If a composer could say what he had to say in words, he would not bother trying to say it in music.
So said Mahler about the Adagietto, originally written for the love of his life Alma Schindler as a present, but there hangs a tale available on most youtubes' and wikipedias' !! Indeed Mahler wrote a poem for Alma, the German text of which can easily match the main opening motiv; (c,d,e, E...F.. etc)

Wie ich Dich liebe, Du meine Sonne               In which way I love you, my Sunbeam
ich kann mit Worten Dir's nicht sagen           I cannot tell you with words
Nur meine Sehnsucht kann ich Dir klagen     Only my longing, my love and my bliss
und meine Liebe, meine Wonne!                     Can I with anguish declare!

Anyhow, here it is arranged for Clarinet Sextet, best played delicately and soulfully or listened to on a decent pair of headphones!!

The music of Karg-Elert is renowned all over the world and cherished by Organists, his use of unusual harmony, bursts of frantic and passionate passages, with sensuous and vast chordal images never fails to deserve the many plaudits amassed by this composer, and above all never dull a moment.
Carefully extracting the strands of music from the original is no easy task, but it does give us mere mortals a chance to view and listen to the music of Sigfrid Karg-Elert from a different angle.
