David McKeown #6366111. Published by David McKeown (A0.592499). It’s Been a Long Long Time is arranged as a duet for one Flute and one Alto Saxophone. It’s Been a Long Long Time is best known to modern audiences as the song at the end Avengers: Endgame, where Steve Rogers, after seventy years, finally gets to dance with Peggy Carter. The song of course, is much older. Two versions of It’s Been a Long Long Time topped the charts in late 1945, and as US servicemen returned from Europe and the Pacific, it perfectly caught the mood of the times. One version was by Bing Crosby, and the other by the Harry James Orchestra featuring Kitty Kallen on vocals. It is the latter version that is heard in Endgame and the one that forms the basis of this arrangement.Musicians at an intermediate standard will find It’s Been a Long Long Time ideal for formal and informal concert performances. with both parts enjoying plenty of melodic interest. The overall performance time is just over two and a half minutes. Click the link above to listen to a full performance of the clarinet version on YouTube. To keep up with new titles, search for Dave McKeown Sheet Music Downloads on Facebook. There are many more top quality arrangements and compositions by David McKeown for you to browse at http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/publishers/david-mckeown/6203

Instrumental Duet Alto Saxophone,Flute,Instrumental Duet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.587773 Composed by Scott Joplin. Arranged by David McKeown. 20th Century,Folk,Ragtime,Standards. Score and parts. 5 pages. David McKeown #4896901. Published by David McKeown (A0.587773). The most popular of Scott Joplin’s piano rags during his lifetime, The Maple Leaf Rag was published in 1899. Joplin lived for a while in Sedalia, Missouri and the Maple Leaf Club in that town is thought to have provided the name for this composition. It provided Joplin with a steady income for the rest of his life, and while he requested that it be played at his funeral, his wife refused as she felt it inappropriate. It was the first track on Joshua Rifkin’s famous 1970 revival recording of Joplin’s music and, never waning in popularity, it has featured in hundreds of films. This version for Flute and Alto Saxophone Duet includes all four sections of the original composition. The tempo in recorded versions varies widely between 72 and 126, so the marking of 92 is a suggestion only. The linked youtube performance is the Alto Saxophone version of this duet and the repeats are omitted for brevity.Musicians at an advanced intermediate level and above will find this ideal for formal and informal performances. The overall performance time is around four minutes.Teachers will enjoy using this arrangement as a fun way to help with phrasing, syncopated rhythms and light articulation. Instrumental Duet Alto Saxophone,Flute,Instrumental Duet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1117417 Composed by Scott Joplin. Arranged by David McKeown. 20th Century,Jazz,Ragtime. Score and parts. 17 pages. David McKeown #718967. Published by David McKeown (A0.1117417). Scott Joplin is celebrated as the United States’ first well-known black composer, making his name as a writer of piano rags. His life was a constant struggle with adversity, and Joplin died relatively young in 1917, at the dawn of the recording age. Few remembered Joplin’s music until a revival in the 1970s brought The Entertainer and others to the world’s attention. Nowadays Scott Joplin has taken his rightful place in the gallery of great American composers. The duets included in this collection are, The Entertainer, The Maple Leaf Rag, The Easy Winners, The Elite Syncopations and The Favorite. They have been arranged as duets for one Flute and one Alto Saxophone, and include all sections of the original compositions. The YouTube link showcases the clarinet version of these duets. The duets are suitable for players at an intermediate and and advanced intermediate level. Musicians will find these Ragtime duets ideal for formal and informal performances, light and fun, yet still a serious and vitally important part of the American musical heritage. The overall performance time for all five is around 25 minutes. Teachers will enjoy using these arrangements as a fun way to help with phrasing, syncopated rhythms and light articulation.    There are many more top quality arrangements and compositions by David McKeown for you to browse at http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/publishers/david-mckeown/6203

Arranged by David McKeown. Rock. Score and parts. 5 pages. David McKeown #5306093. Published by David McKeown (A0.588138). When I’m Sixty-Four first appeared on the Beatles’ 1967 album, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. Despite the song’s appearance relatively late in the Beatles’ discography, it was one of the first songs that Paul McCartney wrote, at the age of 16. When the song was finally recorded in 1966, Paul McCartney felt it was too slow and turgid. George Martin simply solved the problem by speeding up the tape and raising the pitch by one semitone. This version of When I’m Sixty-Four is arranged as a duet for one Flute and one Alto Saxophone. The full YouTube performance above is the Alto Saxophone version of this duet.Musicians at an intermediate level will find this ideal for formal and informal concert performance. Instrumental Duet Alto Saxophone,Flute,Instrumental Duet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.589312 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by David McKeown. Jewish,Wedding,World. Score and parts. 5 pages. David McKeown #6022231. Published by David McKeown (A0.589312). Silver Wedding, (Die Silberne Khasene in Yiddish), is a Jewish Folk tune, often performed by Klezmer musicians. This version is arranged as a duet for one Flute and one Alto Saxophone. Jewish Wedding bands, prominent in early twentieth century New York, were well placed to take advantage of the phonograph recording revolution. Accordingly, we are fortunate to have a rich record of the musical style of the time. Silver Wedding first appeared in a 1915 recording by Abe Elenkrig’s Orchestra. Elenkrig was born in Ukraine, which may point to the origins of the tune. Silver Wedding is in a Bulgar style, a happy piece designed to escort the newly-weds from the ceremony to the feast. Silver Wedding is simply arranged in a key and range best suited to the instruments. The melody is in three sections; overall the tune is played twice with a short introduction and coda and with constant variations in the accompaniment. Silver Wedding is suitable for players at an intermediate level and above. With a performance time of around three minutes, this version of Silver Wedding is perfect for weddings, celebrations and concert performances, both formal and informal.
