String Quartet Cello,String Quartet - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1112594 Composed by John Bacchus Dykes. Arranged by Michele Galvagno. 19th Century,A Cappella,Christian,Patriotic,Sacred. 14 pages. Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele #714602. Published by Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele (A0.1112594). Eternal Father, Strong to Save is a British hymn traditionally associated with seafarers, and was first written in 1860 by William Whiting (1825—1878), an Anglican churchman from Winchester. According to his recount, Whiting grew up near the ocean and, at the age of thirty-five, had felt his life spared by God when a violent storm nearly claimed the ship he was travelling on. This instilled in him a belief in God's command over the rage and calm of the sea. The music associated with it was written by John B. Dykes (1823—1876), another Anglican clergymen and composer of the music for nearly three hundred hymns. This edition comes in several arrangements for multiple ensembles. At the moment of the first edition it contains the original choir version (with the 1861 lyrics), a voice and piano version, and arrangements for string, cello, trombone, horn, woodwind, brass, and saxophone quartets. The cello, trombone, and horn quartet versions are slightly more elaborated. Additional versions will be created upon request, contact me to know more. This arrangement is dedicated to Martin Smith.

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1092498 Composed by Francesco Durante. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Baroque,Instructional,Sacred. Score and parts. 8 pages. Regis Bookshar #696590. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.1092498). Kyrie - by Francesco Durante; Violoncello Quartet – Intermediate – Digital Download. “Kyrieâ€, originally written for a four-part vocal ensemble by Francesco Durante, has now been transcribed, edited and arranged by Regis Bookshar, for a Violoncello Quartet. It would be a welcomed addition to any music library. This short composition, which lasts less than two minutes, will provide students with the opportunity to continue to develop good intonation because many of the phrases cadence on a unison note. This selection could be performed for concerts, recitals and church services. It is suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing this selection. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (8 pages). This selection is one of the many arrangements from the Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble’s extensive music library which are being made available for the first time. We have performed the Trumpet Quartet version of this composition for many church services, especially funerals, when we were asked to supply something more somber and introspective rather than the louder, more festive music which many people come to expect from a Trumpet Ensemble. Francesco Durante was an Italian composer who was born on March 31, 1684 at Frattamaggiore, in the Kingdom of Naples. At an early age he entered the Conservatorio dei poveri di Gesu Cristo, in Naples, where he received lessons from Gaetano Greco. Later he became a pupil of Alessandro Scarlatti at the Conservatorio di Sant’Onofrio. He is said to have succeeded Scarlatti in 1725 at Sant’Onofrio and to have remained there until 1742, when he succeeded Nicola Porpora as head of the Conservatorio di Santa Maria de Loreto, also in Naples. He held this post for thirteen years, until his death on September 30, 1755. His fame as a teacher was considerable, and, unlike his Neapolitan contemporaries, who attracted international notice with their operas, Francesco Durante achieved recognition through his church music, along with some vocal chamber and instrumental works. His concern was not quantity. A complete collection of Durante’s works, consisting almost exclusively of sacred music, was presented by Gaspare Selveggi, a Neapolitan art collector and music theorist, to the Bibliotheque Nationale in Paris. The imperial library of Vienna also preserves a valuable collection of Durante’s manuscripts. The fact that Durante never composed for the stage brought him an exaggerated reputation as a composer of sacred music. He was considered one of the best church composers of his style and period. In his masses, requiems, litanies and Lamentations, he could provide strong expressive moments, as he does in this “Kyrieâ€. In addition to this arrangement for a Violoncello Quartet, Regis Bookshar has also made other arrangements of this selection. There are Quartets readily available for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. Please take the time to look for other versions of this composition. You may find something else that may also suit your needs. I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar, as well, as there are numerous arrangements in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check periodically because new arrangements are being added as often as possible. I’m certain that this beautiful arrangement of Francesco Durante’s “Kyrie†will continue to entertain both performers and audiences alike for years to come.

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1310534 Composed by Jacques Offenbach. Arranged by Clara Obsidian. 19th Century,Romantic Period. 15 pages. Clara Obsidian #899596. Published by Clara Obsidian (A0.1310534). Orpheus in the Underworld, or Orpheus in Hell are English names for Orphée aux enfers, the comic opera written by Jacques Offenbach. The Overture, also known as the 'Can-can dance' or 'Infernal Galop', was popularized when groups like Moulin Rouge and the Folies Bergère adopted it as their dance set piece.A little fun fact! The overture was not actually writted by Offenbach! It is a giant collage of many themes, in which Jupiter's minuet and John Styx's song recur, and also including J'ai vu le Dieu Bacchus, the couplets Je suis Vénus, the Rondeau des métamorphoses, the Partons, partons section of the Act 2 finale, and the Act 4 galop. It was actually arranged by Austrian musician Carl Binder for the Opera's first production in 1860The arrangement for Cello Quartet features 4 parts that play equal importance to the music, with Ossia included for a variation of difficulty.Full Score and Parts---------------------.

Please visit  https://www.sheetmusicplus.com/search?Ntt=sherry+lewis+publishing for all of the titles I offer. If you can’t find a title then contact me through www.baysbest.com/smp-arrangeme/ and I’ll give you the link back to Sheet Music Plus’s listing. VERSATILE Titles that include four parts are written with the idea that they can be performed with 1, 2, 3 or 4 musicians. Most of the contemporary/popular titles include a chord chart for a bass instrument. PRACTICE needs would vary according to the level of the performers but my goal is to be sight-readable for most performers and groups.  AUDIO SAMPLE The 30 second mp3 is frequently shortened and may not start at the introduction to get to the reprise. The actual introduction will be in the sheet music. LISTENABILITY I have performed thousands of weddings and special events. I make it a goal for the music to carry as well as possible through loud and large space situations.  ARRANGEMENTS usually follow the original version. There is an mp3 where you can hear 30 seconds and get a feeling of the originality of the work. EXCELLENT for corporate events, weddings, social gatherings and recitals. APPROPRIATE for students and schools. CHURCH REPERTOIRE I’m always adding more titles. Sherry Lewis is a professional arranger and musician residing in Northern California. String Quartet Cello,String Quartet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.841328 Composed by Piatti, Carlo Alfredo. Arranged by Artistic Score Engraving by Michele Galvagno. Instructional,Romantic Period,Standards. 66 pages. Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele #3624857. Published by Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele (A0.841328). Piatti composed the small quartet (Quartettino) In vacanza (On holiday), a Sonata-form in three movements for four cellos, dedicating it to the young cellists from Bergamo in 1891. It was premiered at the final exams in the same year.It is a simply structured piece made of catchy melodies, thick of that irony, that carelessness that probably Piatti reckoned as a fundamental soft skill for young musicians. The first movement, Allegro con brio, bears the title Partenza(Departure), the second, Andantino quasi allegretto, Arrivo (Arrival), the third, Allegretto vivo, Danza rustica (Rustic Dance). One cannot help but notice the lack of a slow movement in the middle or of a Coming Back at the end. We can explain this only in recognising that Piatti, having come to the end of a long career, may have wanted to leave a wishing message to the younglings who were still at the beginning of their path: “may your life be as a long, endless holiday, with no slack moment; may the enthusiasm to push forward never falter you and may even old age have the cheerful rhythm of a danceâ€This score was published in 2018 and updated in 2023.
