Prelude II from George Gershwin's Three Preludes for piano composed in 1926 and transcribed for Bb Clarinet and two Bassoons.
Gershwin referred to the piece as a sort of blues lullaby. 
The second Prelude is distinctly influenced by jazz and the piece begins with a subdued melody winding its way above a smooth, steady bassline. The harmonies and melodies of this piece are built on thirds, emphasizing both the interval of the seventh and the major/minor duality of the blues scale. In the second section, the key, tempo, and thematic material change and the opening melody and bass return in the final section. This arrangement is transposed down from the original key to B minor.
A perfect ensemble piece for classroom study, woodwind recitals, competitions or church interludes. Duration: 03:00

La Rejouissance, or ‘Rejoicing’, is the fourth movement from Handel’s suite Music for the Royal Fireworks.  Originally written for large wind band, the work was commissioned to accompany an outdoor fireworks celebration held in London’s Green Park in April 1749, to celebrate the signing of the Treaty of Aix-la-Chapelle the previous year.  The music proved to be more successful than the fireworks themselves - wet weather meant many of these did not ignite as anticipated.

This arrangement for woodwind trio of 2 B-flat clarinets and bassoon makes a useful addition to general repertoire, but is also handy for celebratory occasions such as weddings, special birthdays, graduations, etc.

Haydn originaly composed this trio for baryton, viola & cello for Prince Esterhazy who was an enthusiastic baryton player. This is the 83rd of 125 trios which illustrate the prince's developing proficiency on this now little used string instrument. Despite the limited usefulness of the trios, Haydn never allowed the high standard of musical inventiveness to fall. 
There are three movements, Adagio, Allegro & Menuetto & Trio which have been arranged for 2 Bb clarinets and bassoon. The bassoon part can be played on a cello. Players of intermediate standard and above will enjoy this piece.

Giant Colored Bird II (2005) for two clarinets and bassoon was commissioned by Nicholas
Batko and is dedicated to him, Christina Johnson, and Eric Goldman.
The title refers to a vivid mental image of a large, brilliantly colored bird in the wild: both flying
and unfurling its wings, while looking out over a beautiful landscape. Giant Colored Bird II is
thus a joyous celebration of color and warmth.
The opening section is lyrical as each instrument in turn takes a solo role. This section dissolves
into short cadenza-like passages for each instrument. The second section is vibrant: a lilting
melody contrasts with driving figurations. The level of energy builds towards the conclusion.
