Choral Choir (TTBB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.522449 Composed by Jesse Brown Pounds. Arranged by Paul A. Jorg. A Cappella,Christian,Contemporary,Sacred. Octavo. 2 pages. Paul A. Jorg #6141409. Published by Paul A. Jorg (A0.522449). Here is a bit of history from Hymnary, org of the composer, Jesse Brown Pounds, a young lady from a suburb of Cleveland, OH.   She was not in good health when she was a child so she was taught at home. She began to write verses for the Cleveland newspapers and religious weeklies when she was fifteen. After an editor of a collection of her verses noted that some of them would be well suited for church or Sunday School hymns, J. H. Fillmore wrote to her asking her to write some hymns for a book he was publishing. She then regularly wrote hymns for Fillmore Brothers. She married Rev. John E. Pounds, a pastor of the Central Christian Church in Indianapolis in1896, and one year after marriage, wrote this hymn.  The arrangement is for 4 part male harmony (TTBB) a cappella. .

Choral Choir,Choral (TTBB Chorus) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1516691 By Mark R Lewis. By Mark R Lewis. Arranged by Mark R Lewis. Contemporary,Praise & Worship,Religious,Sacred. 11 pages. Mark R Lewis #1090864. Published by Mark R Lewis (A0.1516691). The text for “Where Is Hope?” is adapted from the Lamentations Chapter 3 and is an expression of hopelessness, almost depression. The text starts out with the singer feeling lost, alone, and in pain. As the song progresses, the singer remembers God’s promises to always help and be with us. By the end of the song, the singer has regained hope and is triumphant and comforted. First and foremost, the music is very much intended to support the lyrical content of this song.Throughout the song, the key switches from major to minor (both parallel and relative) quite frequently. The piece starts with a very free section with almost no tempo alternating between just voices and simple piano accompaniment. The middle sections have stricter tempo and more active piano accompaniment and the final section increases in speed and excitement with piano truly accompanying the voices instead of just mostly mirroring them. Throughout the piece, meter always follows word stress so there are a surprising number of time signature changes with lyrical clarity always being more important than strict meter. All that said, the rhythms are not too difficult throughout the song and while there are some dissonant harmonies, the musical lines themselves should be singable by most intermediate choirs. The most challenging voice part is probably the tenor 1 line which spends a lot of time in the higher ranges. There are a few optional parts for the tenor 1s that will truly test the range of the singers.

Choral Choir (TTBB) - Digital Download SKU: A0.1001562 Composed by Lorne Balfe. Arranged by Mark R. Lewis. A Cappella. Octavo. 8 pages. Mark R Lewis #6885085. Published by Mark R Lewis (A0.1001562). In the fall of 2021, Amazon Prime introduced the first season of the television adaptation of Robert Jordan's iconic Wheel of Time book series. The series included a lot of wonderful music composed by Lorne Balfe, including The Song of Manetheren in episode 2. It is presented as a folk song performed by the character Mat and joined by the other main characters as they travel on horseback through the countryside. This arrangement of the piece is arranged by Mark R Lewis for a cappella TTBB ensemble with additional lyrics added by Mark R Lewis. The baritones have the melody the whole time with the basses providing a lower, drone-like harmony and the tenors providing upper harmonies. The arrangement also includes body percussion in the form of foot stomps and hand claps. The piece is not particularly difficult but does have some rather quick, atypical rhythms and may test the ranges of younger singers.
