Choral Choir (TTBB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1046792 Composed by M. Durham, Samuel Stennett, and The Sacred Harmony. Arranged by Mark R Lewis. A Cappella,Folk,Praise & Worship,Sacred,Spiritual. Octavo. 11 pages. Mark R Lewis #651304. Published by Mark R Lewis (A0.1046792). Bound for the Promised Land was a very popular revivalist spiritual in 19th century America. The text was written by Samuel Stennett in 1787 and the tune, popularized by the hymnbook The Sacred Harmony, was written by M. Durham in 1835. The text focuses on the singer's desire to get to the Promised Land. This version was arranged for a cappella TTBB Ensemble by Mark R Lewis. All parts get a chance at the melody and there are several interesting key changes. Also available for SATB Ensemble Vocal Range: Keys of D minor, Eb minor, and E minor Tenor 1 - 1 octave (D3 to D4) Tenor 2 - 1+ octave (C3 to E4) Baritone - 11/2 octaves (B2 to E4) Bass - 11/2 octaves ([opt. E2] A2 to E4).

Choral Choir (TTBB) - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.563718 By David Bowie. By David Bowie. Arranged by Austin Ralphson. Pop,Rock. Octavo. 13 pages. Austin Ralphson #4775337. Published by Austin Ralphson (A0.563718). This arrangement of the David Bowie classic from 1971 will bring a suitably vibrant, emotion-filled element to any programme, serving as a fitting tribute to a hugely influential and popular musician. It works well in pretty much any concert due to its popularity and the variations in dynamics, timbre, texture and, or course, the incredibly unpredictable harmonies. I have kept much of the piano accompaniment the same as David Bowie composed. There is some lovely interplay between the vocal parts which explores the original text a little further, leading to a huge, impressive ending. An essential addition to any programme, this arrangement is a great crowd-pleaser!

SATB chorus and reciter - Digital Download SKU: BJ.1427 Das verlorene Paradies. Composed by Kjell Perder. A paradise lost – A choral work in honour of Beethoven. Secular. Octavo. 24 pages. Bo Ejeby Forlag - Digital #1427. Published by Bo Ejeby Forlag - Digital (BJ.1427). 8.27 x 11.7 inches. In the symphony popularly known as the Pastoral, Beethoven delineates his deep love for nature, for the peace of the countryside along with the drama of a thunderstorm. Little could he know how industrialism, urbanisation, exploitation and a general lack of respect would come to be a threat to Mother Earth. When we hear the nightingale, the cuckoo, and the rumbling of thunder in Beethoven's sixth symphony, the aim of the composer is to express his emotions with regard to these sounds of nature rather than imitate them (Mehr Empfindung als Malerei!). Yet the Pastoral Symphony became a model for 19th century programme music composers who wished to renew the symphonic format with storytelling and a freer artistic idiom. The vocal work Det forlorade paradiset (The lost paradise) makes reference to Beethoven's ontologically anchored love for Creation, but also to the fundamental tension between the idyllic and encroaching threats, the very factors that give the Pastoral Symphony its richness and inevitability. The lyrics have nothing to do with John Milton's famous epos Paradise Lost, they foretell an approaching apocalypse created by mankind in this age of pollution and climate change. The choral text consists of fragments of Schiller's Ode an die Freude (used by LvB in his 9th Symphony). A few quotes by Beethoven will be recited as well. The basic principal of this composition is to present soothing parallel - tonally based - streams of nature sounds and idyllic surroundings with the gathering of ominous clouds of approaching disaster: ferocious fires, torrents of rain and stormy winds (where the singers make use of clusters, chanting, growl, stamping their feet, etc). Doch mehr Empfindung als Malerei! (emotion rather than mere imitation). A nod or two to Mr. Beethoven by way of droning and using chromatic runs. The performance can be choreographed for extra impact, but it is equally possible to perform the music as a concert piece. - Kjell Perder.

Choral Choir (TTBB) - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.774723 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Sandra Milliken. Folk,World. Octavo. 13 pages. Sandra Milliken #3863765. Published by Sandra Milliken (A0.774723). Brisbane Ladies, sometimes known as Augathella Station, is an Australian folk song based on an English naval song titled Spanish Ladies. The song probably dates from the time of the War of the First Coalition (1793-96) when the Royal Navy carried supplies to Spain in support of that country’s resistance to revolutionary France. It then probably gained further popularity during the later Peninsular War when British soldiers were transported to Spain to assist rebels fighting against the French occupation by the forces of Napoleon.Spanish Ladies is a tale of British naval personnel sailing north from Spain and along the English Channel to their home port. Due to its popularity, several variants of Spanish Ladies later appeared in various parts of the world. American whalers sang a version called Yankee Whalermen. In Newfoundland it appeared as We’ll Rant and We’ll Roar. Special lyrics were written to the tune for the Bluenose, a famous Canadian sailing ship plying out of Nova Scotia. In Australia, around 1880, another set of lyrics appeared, written by Saul Mendelsohn who was a storekeeper in the small Queensland town of Nanango. Brisbane Ladies tells about the drovers who bring the herds of cattle overland from western Queensland to the markets in Brisbane. There the drovers spend most of their money and time with the ladies before setting out for home in search of the next herd of cattle for market. The places mentioned in Brisbane Ladies are mostly small towns along the stock route that stretched some 750 kilometres north-west of Brisbane towards the small town of Augathella, on the banks of the Warrego River. Augathella, at that time, marked the convergence of three major bullock tracks from Morven, Tambo and Charleville.
