Mark S Burnip #796888. Published by Mark S Burnip (A0.1197707). This is a TTBB Barbershop arrangement of this wonferful haunting melody from The Sandpiper film with Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor. It has two parts with a verse that sets up the song and moves into a swing style lead driven melody. The middle section has a Bass solo with a Rumba style accompaniment that brings you back to the tag triumphantly to the end. It's a lovely song to add to any quartet or chorus' repertoire and I hope you enjoy my version of this evocative melody.

Choral Choir (TTBB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1256812 Composed by William H. Walter. Arranged by Tuaimanu B. Petaia. A Cappella,Religious,Sacred,Spiritual,Traditional. Octavo. 9 pages. Tuaimanu Byron Petaia #850197. Published by Tuaimanu Byron Petaia (A0.1256812). I became aware of the hymn Rise Up, O Men of God! whilst playing through the hymnal used by my congregation a few years before I tried my hand at writing this arrangement in 2021. I drew part of my inspiration from a recording of the hymn made by the Tabernacle Choir, as well as from a very popular arrangement of the hymn Nearer My God to Thee by BYU Vocal Point.I’ve always been impressed by the immense power found in the unison singing of any choir, which is why I find the opening to this hymn so compelling and captivating. There is a grand and almost orchestral quality to this hymn that I find almost impossible to replicate in an ensemble that is singing acapella, and so in a way I think it almost inevitable that this arrangement is anti-climactic. I tried my best to write in a way that I thought imitated the triumphal and regal sounds of brass instruments and the organ. Even so, this hymn remains one of my favorites of all time, and I hope this arrangement does it justice, especially because it is ultimately written with the express purpose encouraging the saints to have a greater love and greater sense of jubilation in praising our Lord.

Choral Choir,Choral,TTBB Chorus - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1454905 By Bruce Springsteen. By Bruce Springsteen. Arranged by Philip Lapatha. A Cappella,Contemporary,Film/TV,Pop,Singer/Songwriter. 7 pages. Philip Lapatha #1033976. Published by Philip Lapatha (A0.1454905). Here is a great song by a great song-writer.  Bruce Springsteen wrote this song for the movie Philadelphia.  The song explores themes of loss, decline, wasting away, due to societal discrimination.  It is masterful story-telling.  This arrangement endevaours to capture the spirit of Springsteen's words and music. The duo descant at the end is both a wail of hurt and a cry or triumph.Vocal percussion or cajon may be added to bring some rhythm to the performance.

Choral Choir (TTBB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1023216 Composed by Nathaniel McEwen. Christian,Contemporary,Sacred. Octavo. 8 pages. McEwen Music #4993919. Published by McEwen Music (A0.1023216). This piece is a solemn, modest, and fairly traditional setting for men's choir (TTBB) of the words uttered by Simeon in the Gospel of Luke upon his seeing the Christ-child.  The theme of death permeates the music and is especially apparent at the beginning of the work.  However, the promise of salvation through the Messiah transforms the music, and the choir ends the piece decisively in a major key, symbolizing the Savior's triumph over death and the forgiveness of sin.  The piece would work equally well in a liturgical setting and a concert hall.

[Refrain]3 I’ve almost reached my heav’nly home,my spirit loudly sings;your holy ones, behold, they come!I hear the noise of wings. [Refrain]4 O bear my longing heart to himwho bled and died for me;whose love now covers all my sin,and gives me victory. [Refrain].

TTBB choir (a cappella) - Digital Download SKU: MQ.7720-E Composed by David Conte. 9 pages. E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital #7720-E. Published by E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital (MQ.7720-E). English.Crossing the Bar creates images of the sea, with the final voyage leading us out across the water, to see our Pilot, face to face. The musical setting endeavors to express the growth from peaceful to ecstatic moods, the tolling of the bell, the meeting of the Pilot. May there be no moaning of the bar, when I put out to see.The poetry of Alfred, Lord Tennyson (1809-1892) is characterized by dark, yet transcendent imagery -- the depths of the ocean, the triumph of the spirit. These poems seem well-suited to musical settings for Men's Chorus. The deep tones. The sonority of male voices (perhaps speaking for the poet) rising in song.Throughout the varied imagery of this poetry -- the depth of the sea, the dark of the night, the tumult of passion and the acceptance of death -- there speaks one, central message. Love was my lord and king..

Choral Choir,Choral (TTBB Chorus) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1516691 By Mark R Lewis. By Mark R Lewis. Arranged by Mark R Lewis. Contemporary,Praise & Worship,Religious,Sacred. 11 pages. Mark R Lewis #1090864. Published by Mark R Lewis (A0.1516691). The text for “Where Is Hope?” is adapted from the Lamentations Chapter 3 and is an expression of hopelessness, almost depression. The text starts out with the singer feeling lost, alone, and in pain. As the song progresses, the singer remembers God’s promises to always help and be with us. By the end of the song, the singer has regained hope and is triumphant and comforted. First and foremost, the music is very much intended to support the lyrical content of this song.Throughout the song, the key switches from major to minor (both parallel and relative) quite frequently. The piece starts with a very free section with almost no tempo alternating between just voices and simple piano accompaniment. The middle sections have stricter tempo and more active piano accompaniment and the final section increases in speed and excitement with piano truly accompanying the voices instead of just mostly mirroring them. Throughout the piece, meter always follows word stress so there are a surprising number of time signature changes with lyrical clarity always being more important than strict meter. All that said, the rhythms are not too difficult throughout the song and while there are some dissonant harmonies, the musical lines themselves should be singable by most intermediate choirs. The most challenging voice part is probably the tenor 1 line which spends a lot of time in the higher ranges. There are a few optional parts for the tenor 1s that will truly test the range of the singers.

Choral Choir (TTBB) - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1196607 Composed by John Allison. A Cappella,Contemporary,Contest,Festival. Octavo. 8 pages. John Allison #795770. Published by John Allison (A0.1196607). This is an a capella setting for six-part male voice choir (TTBarBarBB) of a C19th poem that remains remarkably relevant to any contemporary struggle against injustice. The poem was a favourite of Nelson Mandela's during his 27 years of imprisonment. The piece opens with a haunting evocation of the darkness and cruelty of unjust incarceration; a rhythmic middle section portrays the prisoner's stubborn refusal to lose hope and human dignity, whatever obstacles and punishments must be overcome. The final, maestoso section is a rousing hymn, a joyful celebration of determination to remain true to one's beliefs and ideals, and pride in being the master of one's own fate.Audiences will appreciate the variety of moods and tempos within the piece; ending on a huge emotional high makes it the perfect number to end a performance. Male voice choirs will relish the challenge and the opportunity to demonstrate their control of dynamics, rhythmic ensemble singing and a full range of timbres from ghostly to triumphant.
