Choral Choir (TTBB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.890483 By Queen. By John Deacon. Arranged by Kathleen McGuire. Rock. Octavo. 26 pages. Kathleen McGuire #6339473. Published by Kathleen McGuire (A0.890483). Written by John Deacon, Queen’s bass guitarist, I Want to Break Free was a single from the 1984 Queen album THE WORKS. The song is best known for its video, in which all the band members dress up in women’s clothing as a parody of the long running British TV show, CORONATION STREET. It was considered controversial and banned from MTV in the US, but in the UK, Europe and South America is was a huge hit, viewed as an anthem of fight against oppression. This uncomplicated, fun arrangement is mostly in two parts, with accessible vocal ranges for most choirs. The 5-piece accompaniment (available separately) includes two synths, giving it a true '80s synth-pop groove.

Kathleen McGuire #6339347. Published by Kathleen McGuire (A0.890467). It was released as a single just weeks before he died, and then Elton John performed it live with Queen in 1992 at a Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert. This TTBB arrangement features a baritone solo and works well as a memorial piece. Available separately: 5-piece rock band accompaniment with full score.

Choral Choir,Choral (TTBB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1372967 By Kylie Minogue. By Guy Chambers, Kylie Minogue, and Robert Peter Williams. Arranged by Charles Beale. Disco,Funk. 17 pages. Charliebmusic #957303. Published by charliebmusic (A0.1372967). Kylie Minogue's career has had many phases, and this disco revival song kickstarted her early 2000s period of success. Thematically it is about how when times are hard adn the struggle is real, we should dance. Dance music in general, but especially the disco, is a palce of belonging, empowerment and celebration for the marginalized, and can indeed 'cure your lonely heart'. It is also slightly tongue in cheek in its use of 1970s disco gestures in a bombastic, super-gay and double-coded way. This TTBB arrangement is suitable for many groups and designed asa show opener, with an opening fanfare. It also features a whole TTBB singing falsetto, and, rather than resolving,  finishes on a dramatic moment of tension, ready for the next song.Band parts and other choral voicings are also available from the arranger at their website.
