After the familiar tune is established, the arrangement changes time signatures and offers a fun swinging version of the melody. The original melody is transposed from G Major to C Major (the Key of Cool) so that the arrangement can be played on a regular classroom set of diatonic Boomwhackers, without the need for the chromatic set. Minuet in G (in the Key of Cool!) can be performed with as few as nine players.In this arrangement, you will receive the conductor’s score and one copy of each of the individual parts: melody, harmony, and bass. The work was written as a side project in segments over the course of the composer's undergraduate degree, beginning as a fragment of a melody and eventually arriving at the final product it is today. The instrumentation of the piece makes use of two 4.3 octave marimbas, a vibraphone, glockenspiel, tubular bells, and various unpitched percussion instruments. An attempt at writing for mostly keyboard instruments in the percussion ensemble setting, this melody-based composition recreates the atmosphere of feeling left alone in a seemingly haunted mansion with nowhere to run.
