Percussion Ensemble - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1028124 Composed by Anders Wall. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and parts. 23 pages. WallofSound #3374791. Published by WallofSound (A0.1028124). En ReÌ‚ve, In Dream, was conceived when I studied composition for Tobias Broström. Every day I was commuting from Skurup to BaÌŠstad and every day I was struck by BaÌŠstads almost continental beauty; I felt like I was in France.  Cobble stone roads, houses with towers and that mountain ridge close to the ocean...One day on the train, I ran into three French girls on holiday.Patiently they listened to my ideas and kindly helped me translate the tempo markings to French. The piece begins with us falling to sleep. The marimbas rocks us slowly In Dream. After sudden movements in the vibraphone we are happily strolling on the cobble stones, sun shining and children riding their bikes across the streets not noticing the rocky ride.Bells chime in the distance and the world – or the dream – vanish. As sudden as it started it is gone. The dissonance of the beginning is now gone and our sleep is peaceful and calm - or is it..? Originally a solo piece for Marimba dedicated to Kasper Grøn.Thanks to Camille, Carole, Raphaëlle for the help with the French.

Percussion Ensemble - Digital Download SKU: A0.935382 Arranged by Dan Heslink. Christian,Christmas,Contemporary. Score and parts. 27 pages. Pharaoh Publications #5212785. Published by Pharaoh Publications (A0.935382). Holiday Bolero for percussion ensemble                                                       arr. by Dan Heslink This arrangement is available in two versions, a quintet for xylophone and four marimbas and a percussion ensemble octet for orchestra bells, vibes, 3 marimbas, snare drum, timpani and multiple percussion. These comments refer to the percussion ensemble arrangement. While the term Bolero can be applied to a variety of slow-tempo Latin dances, for most orchestral performers the title will evoke the stirring rhythms of Ravel’s famous Bolero. Similarities include the driving 3/4 bolero rhythm, the building of tension over one long-range crescendo, and the climactic conclusion. The pitch content is based on O Holy Night, the well-known Christmas carol composed by Adolphe Adam in 1847. The difficulty level in terms of executing notes and rhythms is medium-easy. At the same time, the dynamic planning and control of the crescendo requires considerable musical judgment, particularly in the snare drum part. All of the keyboard parts require only two mallets per player, with the exception of the vibe part’s necessity of 3 or 4 mallets. There are no key changes, or mallet and hand independence. Pedaling on the vibes for the most part is suggested by the harmonic rhythm and is not notated. Setup of the general percussion part in the manner of a multiple percussion solo, where all playing surfaces are comfortably accessible. Holiday Bolero is sure to be an audience pleaser during a winter concert, especially close to Christmas. It would serve equally well in a percussion recital or a church service. In church this work would be appropriate as special music or as an offertory. Duration is 2:52. The arranger, Dan Heslink, can be contacted at dan@dheslink.com.

Percussion Ensemble - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.942733 Arranged by Frank Pugh. Christian,Christmas. Score and parts. 5 pages. Frank Pugh #6050785. Published by Frank Pugh (A0.942733). This well-known carol has been set here as a mallet instrument duet with easy rhythm values. It works for bells, marimbas, xylophones, vibraphones, or a combination of those instruments.  It makes a good selection for church programs or recitals with a playing time of around 2:30. Part 1 uses a two octave range from D - D, and part two uses a one octave and a sixth range from D - Bb.You can find my other small ensemble arrangements here at Sheet Music Plus, and be sure to check out some of the full-length videos at my YouTube channel:  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFOboEO545LYT_F7kSa99Xw/videos Thanks for listening!
