Percussion Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.584693 Composed by Jeff Tincher. Contemporary. Score and parts. 45 pages. Jeff Tincher #6019467. Published by Jeff Tincher (A0.584693). This composition begins with a 4/4 March. I wanted to write a composition that started with a simple chord. As the march progresses I added a mote here and there. Each note added continues until a complete musical composition is formed. But it doesn't stop there. Once the composition is formed it progresses to a solemn, smooth 5/4 section. This section then breaks apart to where each instrument has a solo. Then the solos are combined before it returns to the original rhythm with a different chord. Percussion Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.584691 Composed by Jeff Tincher. Contemporary,Rock. Score and parts. 22 pages. Jeff Tincher #6019463. Published by Jeff Tincher (A0.584691). This composition begins with a 12/8 rock tempo. Although it is written in C, the composition is begins in D Minor. The Marimba keeps the 12/8 going while the other three become punctuations. The punctuation continues while the Glockenspiel plays the melody. At measure 15 the song moves into a 6/8 feel. At measure 34 the song returns to the original 12/8 feel. The composition then splits to where the Vibraphone takes on harmony in the 12/8 feel while the Glockenspiel and Xylophone take on a 6/8 countermelody. A short bridge is created by stacking the other 2 on top of the Vibraphone and Marimba 12/8 feel. Then it splits again to where the Xylophone stays with the Vibraphone and Marimba pattern and the Glockenspiel goes off on it's own. During this time the Glockenspiel folds in the 6/8 melody, creating a pleasant conflict. The song D.C.'s to the original 12/8 content. Percussion Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.584697 Composed by Jeff Tincher. Contemporary. Score and parts. 52 pages. Jeff Tincher #6019477. Published by Jeff Tincher (A0.584697). This composition is a Bolero in 12/8. It begins with the initial rhythm that is played throughout the piece. The piece begins at ppp and increases in volume as each instrument plays the melody section. As each instrument enters, it forms a round of the same melody. The bridge begins with the continuing rhythm with each instrument adding their own note with the same rhythm until the complete quartet is playing the same rhythm in a chord. The bridge leads to the climax section where the initial rhythm continues with the third instrument imitates a tympani while the upper two instruments play the melody in harmony at fff volume. The finale is a repeat of the layering bridge to a single accented chord. Hear the full version of composition on Jeff Tincher's For Percussion Quartet CD. Duration = 6:43. Blues in 18/8. That is this composition. A good description of this piece is a structured improvisation-style piece in an odd time signature in the key of D. Right before the key change to B there is a 12/8 measure. At measure 55 there is one measure of 9/8 before we D.C. back to the beginning. There is a lot of glissandos in this piece as well. Percussion Ensemble - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.584692 Composed by Jeff Tincher. Contemporary. Score and parts. 8 pages. Jeff Tincher #6019465. Published by Jeff Tincher (A0.584692). I wanted to create an ethereal piece. This composition is completely made up of whole notes with the exception of where a glissando appears. I wanted to make sure the glissando did not occur until the end of the measure. The composition is in 4/4. Try to ensure a smooth performance with no gaps. Percussion Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.584694 Composed by Jeff Tincher. Contemporary,Jazz. Score and parts. 16 pages. Jeff Tincher #6019471. Published by Jeff Tincher (A0.584694). You like old-time jazz, this is it. This composition begins with the Marimba playing a walking 4. The other three instruments join in with a triad chord melody. Once the melody passage ends each instrument takes a solo with the Marimba line continuing until the Marimba takes it's turn alone. The quartet then takes on a unison passage before returning to the original groove. Hear the full version of composition on Jeff Tincher's For Percussion Quartet CD. Duration = 4:35. Percussion Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.584695 Composed by Jeff Tincher. Blues,Contemporary. Score and parts. 25 pages. Jeff Tincher #6019473. Published by Jeff Tincher (A0.584695). This composition shows how triads and quad chords work as melody. The prelude of this composition is a slow 4/4 pop feel before it moves into the main body of the song, a 12/8 blues motif. The quad chord bridge moves into a different melody with the 12/8 signature. The second bridge is two measures reminiscent of the opening slow section before it goes into a musical accented war between the instruments. The song, once again, moves into the remembrance of the slow 4 section remaining in the 12/8 time. A three measure battle returns back to the original 12/8 section. This begins with a 7/4 time signature in A minor. The initial passage was created to sound like an industrial region in a run-down town. The machines continue to progress until the complete building is running like a well-oiled machine, to quote a anecdote. As it continues the business runs smooth like a waltz in 3/4 time. For a moment the initial passage returns before a climax in A major. The finale concludes as the day ends with the original passage returning in 7/4 time as the business closes for the day. Celebrations is a mixed percussion ensemble octet utilizing both keyboard and non keyboard percussion instruments. It was written in memory of Ohio Band Director, Dan Meeks. In life we celebrate many occasions: birthdays, holidays, vacations, winning seasons, winning the lottery, anniversaries, marriages and births, just to name a few. But at times of loss we can also celebrate those who have left an indelible mark on us. Parents, mentors and teachers fit into this category. This piece is written to celebrate learning and though who guided us on our path. Specifically this piece is dedicated in memory of Dan Meeks, a teacher, band director, percussionist, husband and dad who touched so many lives teaching and guiding his family, friends and students through part of their lives. We are forever in debt to people like Dan and celebrate them. Dan would often say, Just Have Fun! This piece is written with that joy and love of life in mind. Thanks Dan, you always made it fun. In the first of the movements, Fibonacci's series is present in the notes' sequence that forms the series of 16 sounds and it is going to be present throughout the whole work. This series is taking form along the movement and it is getting melody and harmony.Although it is far away from the sonata form, as we know it in its period of highest glory, it takes elements of it and updates to our days. In this movement, we can find sonata form elements as the exposition, development, transitions or coda. The central part of the first movement becomes in the slow movement, being more intimate and lyrical, free of the serials ties although it uses resources before cited -now called common practice-.The movement finish with a short re-exposition that concludes with the virtuosic of the soloist doubling the series and adding more tension until conforming the series in its full whole.II. Weak ForcesIt is the most tribal of both movements. Its structure is more complex and in it, we also can find clear reminiscences to the sonata form.We can divide the movement into two big blocks. The piccolo and the trombone introduce us to the human element representing the two elements that form the development of the whole movement. The two elements of thematics are taken from the series, the first one is easily recognizable because it appears in his primary form.First section & cadenzaIn this movement, the rhythm, the melody, and the harmony are based on the sequence of Fibonacci. As the theme ostinato of the soloist as the melody is formed under the rhythm of 1, 2, 3 and 5. This section leads us to the second section with a clear mode of cadence. In the cadenza, the elements of the rhythm are varied freely with an accompaniment of the Spring Drum.DevelopmentIt is formed by two Rondo sub-sections in which the solo part has been created through the mirror technique. Both sections have the next form:Intro-A-B-A-B-(B(minor)+A)Intro-A-B-A-B-(B(major)+A)First section & CodaThe movement ends with the repetition of the first section and the final code.
