In collaboration with the Philadelphia Classical Symphony and

director, Karl Middleman and Partners in Distance Learning, a music composition project was launched in 2005 for students in Pennsylvania. I created an instructional web site called HOW TO WRITE A FANFARE. Students from around the state worked through the program and sent us their final projects. The committee selected the best ones submitted and we brought the students and their families to Philadelphia where the Philadelphia Classical Symphony performed their pieces on a public concert. This is an arrangement for 7 player handbells. Note that the song is played one octave above written. By writing it this way, it removes the need to read a lot of ledger lines of the top parts. The first measure is the notes for the bells. They should choose bells one octave above those. The rhythms are simplified to make it possible to play on handbells. The parts with 3 and 4 bells can be split between 2 players each if needed. Tempo should be Electro Pop, which is around 126.
