Percussion Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.597224 Composed by Charles Francois Gounod. Arranged by Flávio Régis Cunha. Concert,Contemporary,Romantic Period,Sacred,Standards. Score and parts. 47 pages. Flavio Regis Cunha #4595365. Published by Flavio Regis Cunha (A0.597224). Mors et vita is an oratorio in three parts by Charles Gounod premiered at the Birmingham Festival in 1885. It was conceived as a sequel to La rédemption (1882). The 1886 Paris premiere again featured Jean Baptiste Faure. Gounod considered this oratorio, and its predecessor La rédemption (1882) as his greatest achievements. JUDEX is a part of this important work and now you have it in a friendlier tonality (G) than the original written by Gounod (the key of Gb). The music remains unchanged. It is a beautiful work, very accessible and suitable for concerts openings, service preludes, recitals. It is an important work of the orchestral repertoire and your orchestra needs to play it at some point along the way. You and your orchestra will enjoy playing this work of unique beauty.Flavio Regis Cunha is a pianist, conductor and composer from São Paulo - Brasil. He is currently finishing his doctorate at Mackenzie Presbyterian University where he works as conductor of the Mackenzie University Orchestra and resident composer. Percussion Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.597220 Composed by Charles Francois Gounod. Arranged by Flávio Régis Cunha. Concert,Contemporary,Romantic Period,Sacred,Standards. Score and parts. 43 pages. Flavio Regis Cunha #4592917. Published by Flavio Regis Cunha (A0.597220). This arrangement is designed for a double string orchestra, harp and percussion. The sonority obtained from this arrangement is unique in its conception and can be very well received by the public. Lacking original woodwinds and brasses from Gounod's score, the string orchestra will be an excellent choice for performing in concerts, recitals, funerals and church preludes.Flavio Regis Cunha is a pianist, conductor and composer from São Paulo - Brasil. Percussion Ensemble - Digital Download SKU: A0.597222 Composed by Franz von Suppe. Arranged by Flávio Régis Cunha. Concert,Opera,Romantic Period,Standards. Score and parts. 16 pages. Flavio Regis Cunha #4593577. Published by Flavio Regis Cunha (A0.597222). Die schöne Galathée (The Beautiful Galatea) is an operetta in two acts by Franz von Suppé to a German libretto by the composer and 'Poly Henrion' (the pseudonym of Leonhard Kohl von Kohlenegg). This arrangement of Einmal möcht' Ich so verliebt sein (one aria of the operetta) for orchestra and soprano voice is a very good Encore or an orchestral piece for your repertoire.Flavio Regis Cunha is a pianist, conductor and composer from São Paulo - Brasil. He is currently finishing his doctorate at Mackenzie Presbyterian University where he works as conductor of the Mackenzie University Orchestra and resident composer. For more arrangements like this, works by commission or for any questions you can contact Flavio Regis Cunha at his facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/flavioregiscunhaIn the early 1860s, French operettas by Jacques Offenbach were first presented in Vienna. Franz von Suppé was obliged to compete with them by taking the time-honored traditions of Vienna and combining it with the new style of Offenbach. Die schöne Galathée was Franz von Suppé's first critical success. The sculptor Pygmalion has fallen madly in love with his statue of Galathée and accordingly does not want to sell it to Mydas, a patron of the arts. Instead he prays to Venus, the goddess of the love, that the statue be brought to life. The wish is granted but Galathée turns out to be a very independent-minded creature. She is unfaithful to Pygmalion with his servant Ganymed (because he is much more pleasing to her than Pygmalion) and does not reject Mydas, who offers her jewelry. When Pygmalion catches Galathée in a compromising situation, he successfully implores Venus to turn her back into stone. The jewelry offered by Mydas is also turned into stone, but the whole statue is sold to him.

Percussion Ensemble - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.935385 Composed by Dan Heslink. Contemporary. Score and parts. 36 pages. Pharaoh Publications #5775261. Published by Pharaoh Publications (A0.935385). One Hour to Madness for percussion septet.                            by Dan Heslink From its opening motto to its bold closing summation, One Hour to Madness explores a high degree of musical energy. The title is loosely inspired by Walt Whitman’s marvelous poem, One Hour to Madness and Joy (Leaves of Grass). The music presents a dark and exciting expression couched in pervasive contrapuntal development. A high degree of dissonance is contrasted with the second theme’s clear Bb major tonality. The work’s contrapuntal nature is distilled into a fugato in the second half.  Predominantly a mallet ensemble composition, scoring is for orchestra bells (2 mallets), xylophone (2 mallets), vibraphone (4 mallets), 3 marimbas (each with 2 mallets) and timpani. The timpani part is best performed on the standard set of 4 drums (23-24, 25-26, 28-29, 32-30). The marimba 1 part requires the standard range of 3 ½ or 4 octaves; the marimba 2 part can be executed on the standard 4-octave instrument by omitting a few octave doublings, or on a 5-octave instrument if one is available; marimba 3 requires a 5-octave instrument.  The composer assigns a difficulty level of advanced. It will serve any concert or recital very well. Audiences and performers alike will enjoy the flashy passage work and musical impetus afforded by One Hour to Madness. Duration is 3:41. The composer, Dan Heslink, can be contacted at dan@dheslink.com.

Percussion Ensemble - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.912929 Composed by Brandon Nelson. Concert,Contemporary. Score and parts. 8 pages. Brandon Nelson #2907437. Published by Brandon Nelson (A0.912929). For percussion duo.  Required instruments:  bells, vibraphone, xylophone, temple blocks, suspended cymbals (3 sizes).  General programming.  Advanced Intermediate level.Commissioned by Chris Nadeau for CAn-Duo.  Premiered at Colorado State University, October 16, 2016.It is common knowledge that the universe we see is composed of tiny particles known as atoms. For much of scientific history, it was thought that atoms were made up of three indivisible particles: protons, neutrons, and electrons. Thanks to contemporary advances in physics, we now know that these particles are, in fact, made up of much smaller particles and that these constituents sometimes behave in ways that confound what we thought we knew of the physical universe. In this piece, I have portrayed one type of these subatomic particles, the quark. There are six types (or flavors) of quark: up, down, charm, strange, top, and bottom. These are differentiated by the type of charge they carry and their masses. The first movement is Strange Quark. This flavor has a negative charge and is relatively light. Much like the particle, this movement often behaves in unusual ways.Top Quark, the second movement, portrays the quark flavor that is by far the heaviest. Slow and massive, this particle allowed for the study of the famous Higgs boson. The final movement, Up Quark, is light and decays quickly, much like this particle that contributes to both protons and neutrons. The universe is indeed a wonder to behold and its scale is hardly comprehensible to the human mind. And yet, it is becoming increasingly apparent that there exists an entire universe yet to uncover in the most infinitesimal pieces of matter. It is my hope that the wonder and mystery this inspires be conveyed through this piece of music.
