Percussion Ensemble - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1025413 Composed by Jehad Choate. 20th Century,Contemporary,Film/TV. Score and parts. 67 pages. Jehad Choate #4781401. Published by Jehad Choate (A0.1025413). The Man Who Laughs is a musical portrait of Batman’s greatest adversary, the Joker (Detective Comics). This piece draws inspiration from both comic book sources and live-action performances on film and television. It features five continuous sections:One Bad Day: (Page 1) A prelude showcasing a lush melodic theme that ascribes the derangement of a normal man to the dramatic events of one bad day.How I Got These Scars: (Page 10) Introduces additional thematic material at a frantically energized pace to contrive an identity from a mind fragmented by hitting rock bottom. Why So Serious: (Page 17) Punctuates the Joker’s aggressive resolutions with a reoccurring two note motif.A Dance with the Devil: (Page 33) A fleshed-out unity of previous materials in a romantic waltz-like style.Giggling in a Corner and Bleeding: (Page 47) A dynamic and provocative bout of hysteria that challenges the speed and dexterity of a player in the same way the Joker challenges the ideological resolve of Batman. By the end of this section, the audience might feel like they have been attacked by the Joker, influenced by him, or may have actually been the Joker all along.

Percussion Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1033757 By Giuseppe Mazzamuto. By Giuseppe Mazzamuto. Arranged by Giuseppe Mazzamuto. Film/TV,Multicultural,Patriotic,Traditional,World. Score and parts. 14 pages. Giuseppe Mazzamuto #639067. Published by Giuseppe Mazzamuto (A0.1033757). Kaos is an original composition by Giuseppe Mazzamuto vibraphonist and composer from Palermo. The composition for six percussionists tells the battle of Kiev, the largest battle in history, as well as one of the largest in the Second World War. The scream performed by the percussionists tells of the clash that took place in 1941 between August and September during the early stages of the conflict between the Third Reich and the USSR. It was the Russians who capitulated, whose dead make up most of the 700,000 who remained in the field, letting the Germans penetrate the plains of Ukraine.

Percussion Ensemble - Digital Download SKU: A0.597222 Composed by Franz von Suppe. Arranged by Flávio Régis Cunha. Concert,Opera,Romantic Period,Standards. Score and parts. 16 pages. Flavio Regis Cunha #4593577. Published by Flavio Regis Cunha (A0.597222). Die schöne Galathée (The Beautiful Galatea) is an operetta in two acts by Franz von Suppé to a German libretto by the composer and 'Poly Henrion' (the pseudonym of Leonhard Kohl von Kohlenegg). This arrangement of Einmal möcht' Ich so verliebt sein (one aria of the operetta) for orchestra and soprano voice is a very good Encore or an orchestral piece for your repertoire.Flavio Regis Cunha is a pianist, conductor and composer from São Paulo - Brasil. He is currently finishing his doctorate at Mackenzie Presbyterian University where he works as conductor of the Mackenzie University Orchestra and resident composer. For more arrangements like this, works by commission or for any questions you can contact Flavio Regis Cunha at his facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/flavioregiscunhaIn the early 1860s, French operettas by Jacques Offenbach were first presented in Vienna. Franz von Suppé was obliged to compete with them by taking the time-honored traditions of Vienna and combining it with the new style of Offenbach. Die schöne Galathée was Franz von Suppé's first critical success. The sculptor Pygmalion has fallen madly in love with his statue of Galathée and accordingly does not want to sell it to Mydas, a patron of the arts. Instead he prays to Venus, the goddess of the love, that the statue be brought to life. The wish is granted but Galathée turns out to be a very independent-minded creature. She is unfaithful to Pygmalion with his servant Ganymed (because he is much more pleasing to her than Pygmalion) and does not reject Mydas, who offers her jewelry. When Pygmalion catches Galathée in a compromising situation, he successfully implores Venus to turn her back into stone. The jewelry offered by Mydas is also turned into stone, but the whole statue is sold to him.

Percussion Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.784338 Composed by Joshua Hauser. Instructional. Score and parts. 38 pages. Slide Ride #5288673. Published by Slide Ride (A0.784338). 1 Octave Scale Studies in 15+ keys for 4-part ensembles of like or mixed instruments If this is your first exposure to these scale studies, you are in for a treat! Donuts, if you make a mistake! The initial incarnation of these studies were written for trombone quartet and we would play them in the Tennessee Tech Trombone Choir with the challenge that whomever made the first mistake had to buy donuts for the rest of the ensemble. Since then I have brought that version to several clinics and warm up sessions. One time before I got to explain the title, a fellow trombone professor said, Oh, I get it! Don’t step in the holes!I only wish I had thought of that myself... Since we have one of the best donut shops in TN here in Cookeville, treating the studio to sugar coated goodies was always my intent. As with those initial exercises, you can vary these as much as you’d like.·     Choose a tempo.·     Choose a dynamic.·     Choose an articulation/style.One way I like to play these is to have one person be the model, playing the entire scale over and over while everyone else plays the fragmented versions. That helps everyone to keep on track and stay in time. Double or triple up the parts for ensemble cohesion with a larger group.Practice one key, gradually speeding it up to improve fluidity, or choose a variation and take it through all keys, playing version A, B, C, or D then skipping to play the same set in a new key.If you want an additional challenge, play them in different octaves or change the key. Play the F Major set in f minor (all forms), different modes, etc. Players really have to be on their toes to remember if they are playing melodic minor in the ascending or descending form! For jazz players, try swinging them in dorian or mixolydian modes. The variations are endless! If you are using these with transposing instruments, 1) is F Major in Concert Pitch, 2) is Bb Major in Concert pitch, and so on. When you reach a scale that is enharmonic for another key (Db/C#, Gb/F#, or Cb/B), they are presented in both keys for each instrument so Trumpets can play in Eb while the Flutes are playing in C# with similar examples for all keys. All Donut Etudes with the same volume number are compatible so you can play them in mixed quartets or large ensembles with one or more instruments/people on part 1 and a different instrument on part 2, etc. Since the quartets are all identical, conductors/coaches can use any of the scores to tell which part should be playing at what time. Once you have played a scale with one set of parts, everyone can rotate to a different part and play the same scales again!Enjoy!
