The mime or dancer(s) enter the stage at measure 20 and either 1) perform until the end (m. 91), or 2) perform from m. 20 to m. 41, then leave the stage, and then return at m. 67. This piece is meant to be energetic, theatrical, and fun to perform as well as to watch.Program Note Dance of the Wind-Up Toys was composed in April-May 1968, when composer James Siddons was 19 years old. It was inspired by mime performers as well as the mechanical toys common in the early twentieth century.

By writing it this way, it removes the need to read a lot of ledger lines of the top parts. The first measure is the notes for the bells. They should choose bells one octave above those. The rhythms are simplified to make it possible to play on handbells. The parts with 3 and 4 bells can be split between 2 players each if needed. Tempo should be Electro Pop, which is around 126.

Midnight Manor is a composition for percussion ensemble utilizing 6 performers. The work was written as a side project in segments over the course of the composer's undergraduate degree, beginning as a fragment of a melody and eventually arriving at the final product it is today. The instrumentation of the piece makes use of two 4.3 octave marimbas, a vibraphone, glockenspiel, tubular bells, and various unpitched percussion instruments. An attempt at writing for mostly keyboard instruments in the percussion ensemble setting, this melody-based composition recreates the atmosphere of feeling left alone in a seemingly haunted mansion with nowhere to run.
