This piece is ideally suited for the Marimba Workshop (Pty) Ltd marimbas.www.marimbaworkshop.co.za  It was arranged for the Goede Hoop Marimba Band to be performed at the 2016 Education Africa International Marimba & Steelpan Festival in the Strictly Classical Category where the composer for this category for that year was Antonio Vivaldi. This performance has gone viral on YouTube.  These young girls were aged between 11 and 13 at the time. It is written for African diatonic marimbas in C with an African feel but can be played on a variety of different instruments. Feel free to roll (measured or unmeasured) on the long notes.Whenever I teach this arrangement my students fall in love with Vivaldi and his music. The medley consists of music from Vivaldi's Four Seasons: Spring and Winter and his famous Gloria. There is a joy and wonder as the harmonies and patterns are revealed to them through my unique methodology I use to teach them.I hope you have fun learning this arrangement.I would love to hear your version of this piece. Score and Full Set of 4 Parts This well known children's song is based on the old German folk tune Lauterbach Hab' Ich Mein Strumpf Verlor'n dating back to 1827 and was first published with lyrics by Septimus Winner in 1864. It has been arranged for the younger Orff Ensemble performers using simple rhythms and basic note values. Sop Glock and Alto Met play the tune throughout. Alto Glock provides some harmony with a simple bass line played by Bass Xylo. Arranged in the key of F Major, players will need their Bb bars. Dynamics and tempo markings are suggested ones only and Marimba makes a nice substitute for the Bass Xylo.

An easy, simple arrangement, the tune is played twice with only a variation in the Bass Xylo part for the second playing. Tambourine has a trill at the end with a glissando played by the Bass Xylo. Dynamics and tempo markings are suggested ones only and Marimba or Bass Met could be substituted for the Bass Xylo. A happy, fun piece for all the Orff class.

The title of Dandelion Wind comes from watching the white seeds blow off of a dandelion head in a strong breeze.  Once in motion, the seeds travel with the wind until they come to a final resting place on the ground below.  This piece flows along in that vein of a seedling's windblown journey.Although two marimbas were used in the sound file, the piece works equally well with vibraphones, xylophones, or a vibe/xylo/marimba mix.  It has a slight Celtic feel to it, and it comes in at just over 1:30 if played at the minimum suggested tempo.  It's a great choice for your percussion ensemble or to showcase a pair of mallet players in your program.  The piece only requires one mallet per hand.If you would like to know more about me and what I do, you may locate me on LinkedIn at Frank Pugh Independent Composer / Arranger .  You may also find me on Facebook at @fpughmusic .  I would love to know where my music is being performed if you care to share it.  Thanks!

Sop Glock and Alto Met both play the melody with Alto Glock providing some harmony. Bass Xylo plays a simple bass line for the first half of the arrangement with a variation outlining the melody for the second half. Marimba would make a nice alternative to the Bass Xylo. Tempo and dynamic markings are suggested ones only. Multirest passages have been written out in full to make it easier for the beginning performer.
