ABOUT: Brad Powell (aka The Candlelight Guitarist) began guitar at age ten, inspired by The Beatles. At 15, he became a protégé of jazz guitarist Joe Pass, and later studied classical guitar under Vincent Macaluso and at California State University, Northridge under Ronald Purcell, with a master class under Andrés Segovia. Brad was featured performing Gerald Wilson's Sonata for Guitar and Orchestra at the Hollywood Bowl, with the composer conducting. Brad was mentored in composition by David Rose (composer for Little House on the Prairie). Brad has composed music for TV, including Hill Street Blues and The 'A' Team, working with Mike Post. Brad has ten albums as The Candlelight Guitarist. When not making music, Brad is often out hiking with his four dogs. Brad has also played as the solo guitarist for Disney's Princess Breakfast Adventure at Disney's Grand Californian Resort by Disneyland (since 2019), providing music for the Disney Princesses (Belle, Tiana, Jasmine, Rapunzel, Mulan, Aurora, Ariel, Pocahontas, Cinderella, and their friends and guests).

White Christmas was written in 1940 by US composer Irving Berlin (1888-1989). In 1942 the song was recorded for the film Holiday Inn. Bing Crosby's version, published in 1947, has sold an estimated 50 million copies, making it the best-selling single worldwide.
The song was arranged for the Guitar and notated in classical musical notation and tablature.
The sound of a piano was used in the setting, so the sound does not mix with the sound of your own instrument. The melody is backed by a metronome and quietly by an organ. We hope you enjoy making music...!

White Christmas wurde 1940 vom US-Komponisten Irving Berlin (1888-1989) geschrieben. 1942 wurde das Lied für den Film Holiday Inn aufgenommen. Die 1947 veröffentlichte Version von Bing Crosby verkaufte sich bisher geschätzte 50 Millionen mal, und ist somit die bisher meistverkaufte Single Weltweit.
Das Lied wurde für die Gitarre arrangiert und in klassischer Notenschrift und Tabulatur notiert.
In der Vertonung wurde der Sound eines Pianos verwendet, so vermischt sich der Klang nicht mit dem Klang des eigenen Instrumentes. Hinterlegt ist die Melodie mit einem Metronom sowie leise mit einer Orgel. Wir wünschen viel Spaß beim Musizieren...!

Thanks, John.  White Christmas is an Irving Berlin song reminiscing about an old-fashioned Christmas setting. The song was written by Berlin for the musical film Holiday Inn, released in 1942. The composition won the Academy Award for Best Original Song at the 15th Academy Awards. Since its release, White Christmas has been covered by multiple artists, with the version sung by Bing Crosby being the world's best-selling single (in terms of sales of physical media) with estimated sales in excess of 50 million copies worldwide. When the figures for other versions of the song are added to Crosby's, sales of the song exceed 100 million. A must have in your repertoire!

There is not enough good marching / toe tapping patriotic music for guitar solo that is easier to play... what is out there is often too difficult.  I arranged this for a 50 year high school reunion.  This arrangement is of intermediate difficulty and can be played at 120 to 130 and still sound fine... March tempo is probably 140 to 150 per quarter note.  Appropriate for picnics, the parlor, the patriotic, or parishioners in church especially for Memorial day, fourth of July.  It will work in a Dixieland style.
