Cornucopia is the recent single release by The Candlelight Guitarist (Brad Powell)...featuring an ensemble of guitar, mandolin, string bass, and percussion, in a contemporary bossa-nova style. The instrumental parts for GUITAR (this part), mandolin, and string bass are each available here separately. (Renown percussionist Ms. Bobbye Hall recorded using a bass part for her reference.) These instrumental parts are fairly straightforward (easy to intermediate) professional jazz level. The video (linked herein) shows each performing playing their respective parts. Brad plays both the classical guitar part and mandolin part. Seldom heard standard in this style. Beautiful, instantly recognizable melody. One of Benny Goodman's  finer pieces. It was actually written by Edgar Samposon. Although it became Goodman's most recognizable pieces. This is a leisure swing piece, that is danceable. Pay close attension to your timng on this one and also make it swing! In a trio setting it's fun to improvise over the B section.This piece makes you stand out as a solo jazz guitarist of all idioms. Some chords are played as triads or dyads. I tend to use a minimalist style that keeps the important parts of the music. Tried and true arrangement. Sounds great on acoustic and electric guitars.

Le titre fait référence au peuple de Thrace qui habitait dans les Balkans et plus particulièrement dans le territoire de la Bulgarie actuelle. La pièce est composée en forme A-B-A et le langage utilisé - comme dans la plupart de mes pièces - est basé essentiellement sur des modes et des rythmes issues de la musique des Balkans. Elle est enrichie avec l’utilisation de chromatismes, d’hémioles pour varier la pulsation de base ainsi que de différentes techniques instrumentales.I composed Thracian Tale in 2024 for George Vassilev. The title refers to the people of Thrace who lived in the Balkans and more particularly in the territory of present-day Bulgaria. The piece is composed in A-B-A form and the language used - as in most of my pieces - is based essentially on modes and rhythms from Balkan music. It is enriched with the use of chromatisms, hemiolas to vary the basic pulsation as well as different instrumental techniques.

Published by Kayo Oliver (A0.1009135). JOÃO PERNAMBUCO (João Teixeira Guimarães) died in 1947. Brazilian, son of an indigenous mother and Portuguese father, he started playing the country guitar in childhood, due to the influence of local singers and guitarists. He began to compose regionally inspired songs, based on folk songs. This is the case of the hymn Luar do Sertão (Moonlight of the Hinterland), composed in 1911, his greatest success, not credited by the lyricist partner Catulo da Paixão, who remained as the only author. He was also part of the Caxangá Group, which was dressed in typical clothes and was quite successful in the 10's. He also participated in Turunas Pernambucanos and Oito Batutas, alongside Pixinguinha. He composed several instrumental pieces for guitar, among which Sons De Carrilhoes (Chimes Sounds) stands out. Her work is a reference for guitarists who constantly re-record it.
