A popular Christmas carol, the tune usually used today is from an 1848 edition by Lowell Mason for The National Psalmist (Boston, 1848). There has long been speculation over how much a part Handel's Messiah had in Joy to the World. However, resemblances between Messiah and Joy to the World, have been dismissed as 'chance ' by Handel scholars today. It seems likely that the tune as we know it was probably from an 1833 publication by Thomas Hawkes with the title “Comfort�, Author Unknown. I have combined Handelian elements with the tune that most people know to create an arrangement that works well for guitar quartet retaining the bounce and vigour of the carol. Score available.

Nineteen days before his death on 5 December 1791, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart composed his last complete work, the Freimaurerkantate, K. 623. In parts of the printed edition of this cantata there appeared the song K. 623a Lasst uns mit geschlungnen Händen (Let us with joined hands). To this melody the Austrian national anthem is sung.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756 - 1791) was a prolific and influential composer of the Classical era. His output of over 600 compositions includes works widely acknowledged as pinnacles of symphonic, concertante, chamber, piano, operatic, and choral music. Mozart is among the most enduringly popular of classical composers, and many of his works are part of the standard concert repertoire.

Seine erstmals in Brüssel erschienene â??Gitarrenschuleâ?? ist im Zusammenhang mit den Bemühungen um die Erneuerung des künstlerischen Gitarrenspiels im 20. Jahrhundert zu sehen und fand weite Verbreitung vor allem im belgischen und italienischen Raum. Alle Texte sind in französischer, englischer, deutscher und italienischer Sprache geschrieben, so dass der Lehrgang international verwendbar ist. Interessant sind die einführenden Texte zur Haltung und Spieltechnik der Gitarre.
