This makes it trickier to read but much more fun to play. There are some large stretches and unusual hammer techniques. In the latter, the player creates a note from nothing by hammering a left-hand finger down on a string. I have employed a lot of off-beats, and the idea is to keep it licking along, almost like a piece of dance reggae-style music. This makes it wonderful for the listener and challenging for the player. This is offered in notation only, there is no tab.

Their fifth UK No. 1, it topped the UK Singles Chart for four weeks. The song also reached the Top 10 in numerous other countries.Sting wrote the song in 1982 in the aftermath of his separation from Frances Tomelty and the beginning of his relationship with Trudie Styler. Their split was controversial. As The Independent reported in 2006, The problem was, he was already married – to actress Frances Tomelty, who just happened to be Trudie's best friend. It was originally titled Improvisación ¡A Granada! Cantiga Árabe. It became known through an early 20th-century publication edited by Tárrega and dedicated as an homage to the French guitarist Alfred Cottin.Performance notesThe piece showcases a challenging guitar tremolo, wherein a single melody note is plucked consecutively by the ring, middle and index fingers in such rapid succession that the result is an illusion of one long sustained note. The thumb plays an arpeggio-pattern accompaniment simultaneously. Keith Terrett has done an outstanding job of injecting jazz and blues into these holiday favorites. The writing beginning in measure 13 of Ding Dong Merrily On High is outstanding. Check out the wonderful contrast in movement between the flute and bass. This arrangement of Xmas carols would be a wonderful addition to any future holiday program. Well done Keith! Have fun!
