30 Bluegrass and Country Tunes is a new edition, arranged and edited for Clarinet by Dave McKeown. This collection of favourites is a diverse and fun introduction to the rich heritage of American folk music.

The music consists of the melody with chord symbols added, so friends can join in on guitar, mandolin, piano, banjo or accordion. Some of the polka style tunes are quite simple, while some of the reel style tunes are fast and furious. As in most Bluegrass/Country music, the keys are easy, mostly D and G. Players with two to three years experience should be able to manage most of these uplifting and beautiful tunes.

It’s Been a Long Long Time is arranged as a solo for one Alto Clarinet with Piano accompaniment. 

It’s Been a Long Long Time is best known to modern audiences as the song at the end of The Avengers, Endgame, where Steve Rogers, after seventy years, finally gets his dance with Peggy Carter. The song of course, is much older. Two versions of It’s Been a Long Long Time topped the charts in late 1945, and as US servicemen returned from Europe and the Pacific, it perfectly caught the mood of the times. One version was by Bing Crosby, and the other by the Harry James Orchestra featuring Kitty Kallen on vocals. It is the latter version that is heard in Endgame and the one that forms the basis of this arrangement.

Musicians at an intermediate standard will find It’s Been a Long Long Time ideal for formal and informal concert performances. with both solo instrument and piano enjoying plenty of melodic interest. The separate solo part is included with the piano score in the same pdf file. The overall performance time is just over two and a half minutes.

Already a Classic used in commercial and movies around the world.  You need this one in your repertoire!  The key is two sharps for clarinet with a range from low B1 (below the staff) to E4 (above the staff) if you take the optional higher octave, otherwise, the upper range is to E3 (top space).  The sample demonstrates the optional octave.
