It concists of themes of the operas Don Giovanni and The Magic Flute and premiered in Vienna on 19 May 1842.  The arrangement is kept in the original key of the composition for symphony orchestra and was commissioned and first  time performed by Mozarteum Wind Philharmonic Salzburg conducted by Hansjoerg Angerer at their Three Kings' Concert on 6 January  2019 in the Grosses Festspielhaus (Large Festival Hall) in Salzburg, Austria and broadcasted live by Austrian television. Flight of the Bumblebee is an orchestral interlude written by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov for his opera The Tale of Tsar Saltan, composed in 1899–1900. Its composition is intended to musically evoke the seemingly chaotic and rapidly changing flying pattern of a bumblebee. Despite the piece's being a rather incidental part of the opera, it is today one of the more familiar classical works because of its frequent use in popular culture. The piece closes Act III, Tableau 1, during which the magic Swan-Bird changes Prince Gvidon Saltanovich (the Tsar's son) into an insect so that he can fly away to visit his father (who does not know that he is alive). The duration of this is 2.07 minutes and it is a difficult level piece.

This is the well known overture to Wagner's late opera, a comic opera as well, he Mastersingers(Die Meistersinger von Nurnberg). Has the main themes that run through the opera.  Quite  a majestic opening, with a fine fanfare motif, then quite a florid section, but ends up slower to a great conclusion.

Best known for his opera The Vampire, his music is very much in the romantic style and quite similar, in some ways, to Weber. It transcribes very nicely for Concert Band, giving everyone opportunities to enjoy themselves. Print the parts double-sided as presented (including title pages where supplied) and the page turns will work.

The arrangement is kept in the  original key of the composition for symphony orchestra and was commissioned and first time performed (without Euphonium and Tuba) by Mozarteum Wind  Philharmonic Salzburg conducted by Hansjoerg Angerer at their New Year's Concert on 6 January 2008 at the Great Hall of the Mozarteum Foundation in  Salzburg, then again at their Three Kings' Concert on 6 January 2018 at the Grosses Festspielhaus (Large Festival Hall) in Salzburg, Austria and  broadcasted live by Austrian television. A further repetition at the same event on 6 January 2024 again with live TV, now under the new name Salzburg Wind  Philharmonic underlines the great appreciation for this arrangement shown by the orchestra and conductor.
