For a Few Dollars More (Per qualche dollaro in più) is a 1965 Spaghetti Western film directed by Sergio Leone. It stars Clint Eastwood and Lee Van Cleef as bounty hunters and Gian Maria Volonté as the primary villain. The film was an international co-production between Italy, West Germany, and Spain. The film was released in the United States in 1967, and is the second part of what is commonly known as the Dollars Trilogy. The musical score was composed by Ennio Morricone, who had previously collaborated with director Leone on A Fistful of Dollars. The music is notable for its blend of diegetic and non-diegetic moments through a recurring motif that originates from the identical pocket watches belonging to El Indio and Colonel Mortimer.

A Fistful of Dollars (Per un pugno di dollari) is a film directed by Sergio Leone and starring Clint Eastwood in his first leading role, alongside Gian Maria Volonté, Marianne Koch, Wolfgang Lukschy, Sieghardt Rupp, José Calvo, Antonio Prieto and Joseph Egger. Released in Italy in 1964 and in the United States in 1967, the film initiated the popularity of the spaghetti Western genre. It was followed by For a Few Dollars More and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, both also starring Eastwood. Collectively, the films are known as the Dollars Trilogy, or the Man with No Name Trilogy. The film's music was written by Ennio Morricone. Sergio Leone requested Morricone to write a theme that would be similar to Dimitri Tiomkin's El Degüello (used in Rio Bravo). Although the two themes are similar, Morricone stated that he used a lullaby that he had composed previously, and developed the theme from that. The song is characterized by a famous trumpet solo, played by the Apulian Michele Lacerenza; it was also released on 45 rpm by RCA Italiana and was one of the best-selling records of the year.

By Duke Ellington. By Billy Strayhorn, Duke Ellington, and Johnny Mercer. Arranged by John Ivor Holland. 20th Century,Film/TV,Jazz,Standards. 43 pages. John Ivor Holland #991543. Published by John Ivor Holland (A0.1408939).

Satin Doll is a jazz standard written by Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn with lyrics by Johnny Mercer. Written in 1953, the song has been recorded by many artists, incluing Ella Fitzgerald, 101 Strings, Dewey Redman, Chicago and Nancy Wilson. Johnny Mercer was often asked to write lyrics to already popular songs; the yrics to Satin Doll were written after the song was a hit in its instrumental version. This arrangement has been adapted from the jazz ensemble version by John Edmondson, retaining a short trumpet solo and incorporating the piano parts into the clarinets and vibraphone. Ellington used Satin Doll as the closing number in most of his concerts, why not pay tribute to The Duke and do the same at your next event?

Worthing’s Inspired Instrumentalists was formed in 2015 with just 6 members, all mixed ability and wanting to make music together. They now have 36 members, still a very mixed ability group, and includes instruments which are not found in the normal orchestra†so arrangements must be made for them. They have decided that this year they would like to tackle music which is more of a popular style. This title is one of a list of pieces they have requested.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo) is a 1966 Italian epic spaghetti Western film directed by Sergio Leone and starring Clint Eastwood as the Good, Lee Van Cleef as the Bad, and Eli Wallach as the Ugly. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly was marketed as the third and final installment in the Dollars Trilogy, following A Fistful of Dollars and For a Few Dollars More. The score is composed by frequent Leone collaborator Ennio Morricone. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly broke previous conventions on how the two had previously collaborated. Instead of scoring the film in the post-production stage, they decided to work on the themes together before shooting had started, this was so that the music helped inspire the film instead of the film inspiring the music. Leone even played the music on set and coordinated camera movements to match the music. The main theme, resembling the howling of a coyote, is a two-pitch melody that is a frequent motif, and is used for the three main characters. The main theme, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, was a hit in 1968 with the soundtrack album on the charts for more than a year.

By Stephen R Dalrymple. By American Folk Song. Arranged by Stephen R Dalrymple. Folk. Score and parts. 52 pages. Stephen R Dalrymple #6381291. Published by Stephen R Dalrymple (A0.818351).

Shenandoah ♫ traditional American folk song ♫ arranged for concert band by Stephen R Dalrymple ♫ The meaning of this song will be long debated. Considered a sea chanty, the song was passed on orally by singers on clipper ships. The variations in lyrics that have been collected demonstrate how various singers over the decades have altered the song (consciously or unconsciously). ♫ This arrangement is based on lyrics that were collected prior to 1860 and published in Sea Songs and Shanties by W. B. Whall (1910). There are evidently 2 rivers mentioned in this song, the Shenandoah and the Missouri. The song tells a love story between an impetuous trader and a Shenandoah Valley Native American princess. As the trader heads for the Missouri River, he looks back longingly to the home of the princess. ♫ I have used the Dorian Mode to suggest Native American elements in the story line. The YouTube video features photos of both the Shenandoah River and the Missouri River. ♫ The white man loved the Indian maiden, Away you rolling river. With notions his canoe was laden. Ah-ha, I'm bound away, Cross the wide Missouri. ♫ O, Shenandoah, I love your daughter, Away you rolling river. I'll take her 'cross yon rolling water. Ah-ha, I'm bound away, Cross the wide Missouri. ♫ The chief disdained the trader's dollars: Away you rolling river. My daughter never you shall follow. Ah-ha, I'm bound away, Cross the wide Missouri. ♫ O, Shenandoah, I long to hear you, Away you rolling river. Across that wide and rolling river. Ah-ha, I'm bound away, 'Cross the wide Missouri. ♫ arrangement © 2000 Stephen R Dalrymple ♫ recording ℗ 2021 Stephen R Dalrymple ♫ presentation © 2021 Stephen R Dalrymple ♫ sequenced by the arranger ♫ Purchase price includes permission to make photocopies of parts and additional scores for a medium size school band. ♫ This .pdf file includes 1) Condensed Conductor’s Score 2) Individual parts for: Flute, Oboe, Clarinet 1, Clarinet 2, optional Clarinet 3, Bass Clarinet, Alto Sax /Alto Clarinet, Tenor Sax, Baritone Sax, Trumpet 1, Trumpet 2, French Horn, Trombone/Baritone/Bassoon, Treble Clef Baritone, Tuba, E Bass, Snare Drum/Cymbals, Shaker/Chimes, and Timpani ♫ The YouTube video contains a full recording.

Sound track by Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo the 1966 film directed by Sergio Leone. In the triello scene, after a very tense wait, Blonde kills Sentenza, while Tuco, whose gun was discharged during the night by his companion, finds himself unarmed and at his mercy. But Blonde spares him, reveals to him that no name is indicated on the stone, and forces him to dig in the unknown man's grave next to Stanton's. The two thus come into possession of the dollars, but Blonde plays one last atrocious prank on Tuco: while the latter was digging he prepared a noose hanging from a tree, and forces the bandit to stick his neck through it while balancing precariously on a cross wooden. Then he ties his hands, and before his incredulous eyes he loads half the loot onto Sentenza's horse and walks away. He will save him in the usual way, shooting the rope from afar, amidst the bandit's begging, tears and finally insults.

Sit Down, You're Rockin' the Boat is a song written by Frank Loesser and introduced in the Broadway musical, 'Guys and Dolls', which opened at the 46th Street Theatre on November 24, 1950. In the context of the show, gambler Nicely-Nicely Johnson invents a dream about being saved from hell in order to bring together the members of the prayer meeting. It was originally performed on stage by Stubby Kaye who later reprised his role as Nicely-Nicely Johnson in the 1953 London production, as well as the 1955 film version. In popular culture, the song was performed in the pilot episode of the show 'Glee' in 2009, and then redone in the season 3 finale, Goodbye as well as making appearances on various TV shows and films. When performed on-stage, it's usual that this is the song that gets multiple encores, so get ready to potentially play it several times in a concert!
