The Gift (Lullaby for Jonathan) is a beautiful tune written by my brother Martin for my son Jonathan when he was a baby, originally as a piano solo… I’ve just finished scoring it for concert band and orchestra with his permission - almost 25 years later! This beautiful and peaceful composition with a classical feel was written by my brother Martin as a piano solo in 1976 - He has given me permission to arrange it for the concert band. The Minstrel Boy is an Irish song written by Thomas Moore (1779–1852) and published as part of his Irish Melodies. Moore himself came to be nicknamed The Minstrel Boy.

This is an extended arrangement for the Concert Band. There are parts for Horns in F and Eb, Euphonium in BC, and TC. There is a descant for Piccolo, Flute, Solo Clarinet, and Trumpet in the last strain.

Mexican Hat Dance – Orchestra

The Jarabe Tapatío is a Mexican folk dance, often called the national dance of Mexico, and better known internationally as the “Mexican Hat Dance�.

This bright arrangement is for the Orchestra - It has extra optional parts for Concert Band including Alto Saxophones, Tenor Saxophone, Baritone Saxophone, Euphonium TC and BC, and a chorded Piano Accompaniment part. It could be played by either group or a combined ensemble. Percussion parts include Xylophone, Timpani, and Drum Set.

The last strain is played 3 times with increasing tempo each time!

One Tin Soldier is a 1960s counterculture-era anti-war song written by Dennis Lambert and Brian Potter. Canadian pop group The Original Caste first recorded it in 1969 for both the TA label and its parent Bell label. A 1971 cover was a hit in the U.S. for Jinx Dawson, lead vocalist of Coven, whose recording was featured in the film Billy Jack. The single went to number 26 on the Billboard pop chart.

This arrangement is for the Concert Band with optional parts for the Piano. Percussion Parts for Glockenspiel, Timpani, and Drum Set. There are parts for both Trombones 1-2 TC and BC, Euphonium TC and BC, and Tubas in C, Bb, and Eb.

The Donkey Serenade was a song written for the 1937 MGM musical “The Firefly� starring Jeanette MacDonald and Allan Jones. This song was composed by Rudolf Friml and Herbert Stothart and with lyrics by Bob Wright and Chet Forrest.

This is an arrangement for the Concert Band [C] - This arrangement is based on my Piano Solo version.  There are Parts for Baritone (Euphonium) BC and TC, Tubas in C, Bb, and Eb, plus an optional Piano part (Not shown on the score).
