Adeste Fideles is a Christmas carol that has been attributed to various authors, including John Francis Wade (1711–1786), John Reading (1645–1692), King John IV of Portugal (1604–1656), and anonymous Cistercian monks. The earliest printed version is in a book published by Wade. A manuscript by Wade, dating to 1751, is held by Stonyhurst College in Lancashire. In 1841, the English Catholic priest Frederick Oakeley translated the hymn into English as O Come All Ye Faithful, which became widespread in English-speaking countries.

By Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. By A.P. Carter. Arranged by Cascia Talbert. Christian,Country. 94 pages. Cascia Talbert #996694. Published by Cascia Talbert (A0.1414965).

Can the Circle Be Unbroken (By and By) is a country/folk song reworked by A. P. Carter from the hymn Will the Circle Be Unbroken? by Ada R. Habershon and Charles H. Gabriel. The song's lyrics concern the death, funeral, and mourning of the narrator's mother.

The song first gained attention due to the Carter Family. The song has been recorded by many groups and musicians: Blind James Campbell, Bob Dylan, The Band, The Staple Singers, Clara Ward Singers, John Fahey, Roy Acuff, Joan Baez, The Chieftains, Jerry Lee Lewis, Gene Vincent, Ralph Stanley, The Black Crowes, Kristin Hersh, John Lee Hooker, Bill Monroe, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Pentangle, Spacemen 3, Country Joe McDonald, John Statz, Spirit of the West with The Wonder Stuff, Mavis Staples, The Felice Brothers, Johnny Cash, Gregg Allman, the Neville Brothers, Jeff Buckley, Moby, and Agnes Chan. Its refrain was incorporated into the Carl Perkins song Daddy Sang Bass and the Atlanta song Sweet Country Music. It is primarily performed in gospel, bluegrass and folk, but versions in other genres exist. Most versions of the song use the alternate title Will the Circle Be Unbroken. In 1998, it was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.

This arrangement is for concert band and choir.

By Roy Orbison. By Bill Dees and Roy Orbison. Arranged by John Holland. 20th Century,Film/TV,Pop,Rock,Singer/Songwriter. Score and Parts. 42 pages. John Ivor Holland #879740. Published by John Ivor Holland (A0.1288901).

Featured, of course, in the Julia Roberts and Richard Gere film (1990) and now in its own stage musical, Oh, Pretty Woman was originally recorded by Roy Orbison and released as a single in August 1964, spending three weeks at number one in the US and, later that year, in the UK. The title was apparently inspired by Orbison's wife, Claudette, interrupting a conversation to announce she was going out. When Orbison asked if she had enough cash, his co-writer Bill Dees interjected, A pretty woman never needs any money. In 2004, Rolling Stone magazine ranked it number 224 on their list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. In 2008, The Library of Congress selected the song for preservation in the National Recording Registry. A great song for any time of the year, your band and audience will love this toe-tapping classic from the 60s, sounding as timeless today as it did back then.
