Https://youtu.be/_e_043JWML4Des pas sur la neige is a musical composition by French composer Claude Debussy. It is the sixth piece in the composer's first book of Preludes, written between late 1909 and early 1910. The title is in French and translates to Footprints in the Snow    .   The piece is one of four Debussy preludes in book # 1. Thought to be inspired by the hugely popular French impressionist painting , called Snow at Louveciennes, Debussy's inspiration from Russian composer Modest Mussorgsky is evident in this piece through his utilization of a block-like dissonant chord just before the middle part of the piece  My own personal touches on this piece, included extended chord progression and formation with small variants on melody and counter melodies, Also, more importantly, the expression of the performers interpretation as well as my own for the creation  and  musically paint a magical snow scene.Arranged and scored for piccolo, 6 flutes in c, alto flute in g, bass flute , opt. contra bass flute and / or optional cello.Perfect for large and small ensembles. Perfect for winter  concerts, prelude services, recitals, concerts. I thought this impressionist piece, much like the the famous french paintings are a perfect pairing for winter, snow days, and environmental effects . Obviously, this is a professional arrangement, and super difficult to find on SHeetMusicPLus  , compared to so many other simple and basic , cookie-cutter formatted arrangementsThis arrangement, however is true professionally arranged and definitely will stand out and shine for you ensemble or choir.A must for flute choir libraries!!

This arrangement captures the essence of Debussy's original piano composition, translating its dreamlike atmosphere and delicate melodies into a rich, full-bodied experience for wind ensemble. The arrangement opens with a lush, serene introduction, where woodwinds gently weave the main theme, setting the stage for a journey through Debussy's evocative harmonies. As the piece unfolds, the brass section adds depth and warmth, while the percussion provides subtle, atmospheric support, maintaining the composition's ethereal quality. Each section of the band is given moments to shine, from the lyrical clarinet lines to the resonant tones of the lower brass.Perfect for intermediate to advanced bands, this arrangement allows students to explore the nuances of impressionist music, developing their expressive playing and ensemble sensitivity. Concert Band - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1091230 By Masakazu YAMAMOTO. By Claude Debussy. Arranged by Masakazu YAMAMOTO. 20th Century,Classical,Contest,Festival,Film/TV,Pop. 14 pages. Motch Music #695394. Published by Motch Music (A0.1091230). Arrangement for concert band. This is the third song of Suite â€Bergamasque composed by Claude Debussy around 1890. Written in the style of nocturne, it is one of the most famous songs in Debussy's work. And also it is often featured as a repertoire among classical pianos as a whole. In this arrangement, while respecting the original song, bold “reharmonization†(change of chord) is applied. And further, an opening section as fade-in effect and an ending section extending the aftertaste time are added. All of them are used for creating new attractive of this song. And, I am also inspired by the title “A sentimental promenade which had been named at the time of publication in 1900-1901. There are many weak sounds throughout this song, but each phrase requires a rich expression centered on romanticism. At the same time, it is also important for the phrase to be passed down smoothly, and especially in the middle part, a flowing propulsion is required. I hope that those elements will be organically linked to the harmony taste, which is the key to this arrangement. Commissioned by conductor Keiko Kobayashi, and the Sony Concert Band. Premiered on July 2, 2022. Playing time: about 5'30(arr. Motch Music #694185. Published by Motch Music (A0.1089963). Arrangement for concert band. The 8th piece of the first volume of Preludes, a collection of piano pieces in the maturity of Claude Debussy. A well-known and beautiful piece of work. The melody is inherited by multiple instruments and the bell-tone expresses the soft sound of the original song. Although there are many instructions for weak notes such as p and pp, expressive performances that make use of the timbre of each instrument are required, without being constricted. Concert Band - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1323446 Composed by Claude Debussy. Arranged by Clayton Fannin. 20th Century. 76 pages. Clayton Fannin #911617. Published by Clayton Fannin (A0.1323446). The third movement of Suite Bergamasque composed by Debussy around 1890 and published in 1905, the piece was inpired by the 1869 poem of the same name by Paul Verlaine.Your soul is a chosen landscapeOn which masks and Bergamasques cast enchantment as they go,Playing the lute, and dancing, and all butSad beneath their fantasy-disguises.Singing all the while, in the minor mode,Of all-conquering love and life so kind to themThey do not seem to believe in their good fortune,And their song mingles with the moonlight, With the calm moonlight, sad and lovely,Which makes the birds dream in the trees,And the plumes of the fountains weep in ecstasy,The tall, slender plumes of the fountains among the marble sculptures.DeBussy's piece captures the tranquility and passionate Romantisism of the poem with one of his most famous works. The arrangement captures the rich vibrance and expression of the original piano piece while adding new hints of modernism and tone color.Level 3-41 Piccolo2 Flutes2 Oboes1 Cor Anglais2 Bassoons3 B-flat Clarinets1 B-flat Bass Clarinet2 Alto Saxophone in E-flat1 Tenor Saxophone in B-flat1 Baritone Saxophone in E-flat4 Horns in F2 Trumpets in B-flat2 Trombones1 Euphonium1 Tuba1 ContrabassPianoTimpaniGlockenspiel2 MarimbaVibraphoneAuxillary Percussion (Bass drum, suspended cymbal, and tam-tam).
