Concert Band - Digital Download SKU: A0.733031 Composed by Henry Fillmore. Arranged by Marc Oliver. 20th Century. Score and parts. 74 pages. Ayotte Custom Musical Engravings #2347385. Published by Ayotte Custom Musical Engravings (A0.733031). The Circus Bee is a circus march written by Henry Fillmore of Cincinnati, Ohio in February 1908. Because of its complexity and advanced writing, it is sometimes used as either an opener or an encore piece in band concerts. The Circus Bee was a celebration of sorts for the fact that Henry Fillmore and his father, who managed their publishing business in Cincinnati, finally agreed that the young composer could publish his music at home, even though it did not meet the elder Fillmore's standard of being religious music. It was during this period of conflict between father and son that Henry, showing defiance to his father for not repenting his desire to write marches, reportedly told him, I will huff and I will puff, and I will continue to write marches. This alleged statement by the younger Fillmore gave birth to one of his many composing pseudonyms, Will Huff. The march is named after an imaginary circus newspaper and reflects Fillmore's lifelong interest in circuses and his varied experiences while touring with five different big top shows where he played the trombone. He was also famous for his many trombone marches, such as Bones Trombone, Teddy Trombone and the famous Lassus Trombone, all showcasing the trombone glissando, or smear, caused by moving the trombone slide in and out while playing the instrument (usually loud).

Concert Band - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.866220 Composed by Jeffrey Ouper. 20th Century,Children,Contemporary. Score and parts. 101 pages. Jeffrey Ouper #3684975. Published by Jeffrey Ouper (A0.866220). Note: This download is for the parts formatted for letter size paper.  The score formatted for legal size paper is a separate download. The Circus Cavalry embodies the style of marches and descriptive light-music similar to Leroy Anderson. The Circus Cavalry follows the form of traditional marches, but ends with a descriptive coda in the original key. Listeners can imagine the opening parade of performers, clowns, and animals under the big top circus tent. After the main performance is finished, the coda portrays the clowns’ prolonged merriment, which results in a whip crack from the ringmaster to keep the show on schedule. The Circus Cavalry is perfect for any circus, carnival, or children’s themed band concert! Yellow Envelope Publications #865015. Published by Yellow Envelope Publications (A0.1272817). This piece has a bunch of quirky solo and soli opportunities scattered throughout the ensemble (I hope you’ve been practicing your chromatic scales), a chance for trombones to finally dig into some glisses, and here’s your chance to use all those silly sounding instruments in your percussion cabinet! (And I encourage you to add even more chaotic sounds to the mix if you wish)The clarinet, alto saxophone, trumpet, horn, and trombones all have divided parts, while all other winds are single lines. The percussion parts are quite individualized, especially the mallets.InstrumentationFlute, Oboe, Bassoon, 2 Clarinet, Bass Clarinet,2 Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, Baritone Saxophone, 2 Trumpet, 2 French Horn, 2 Trombone, Euphonium, Treble Clef Euphonium, Tuba10 Percussionists - Timpani, Snare Drum, Bass Drum, Crash Cymbals,Bike Horn, Ratchet, Vibraslap, Flexatone, Whistle (or any other accessories you wish),Glockenspiel, Vibraphone, Xylophone, Marimba

Concert Band - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1023853 Composed by John Philip Sousa. Arranged by Kevin R. Tam. 20th Century. Score and parts. 70 pages. Kevin R. Tam #1920517. Published by Kevin R. Tam (A0.1023853). In 1926, Sousa composed his humoresque A Mingling of the Wets and the Drys, a fantasy on Prohibition wherein takes place a musical conversation between a drinker and a non-drinker. In the course of discussion, they sit down for Tea for Two and we hear familiar tunes such as the Irving Berlin song The Near Future (How Dry I Am) and the Old Oaken Barrel. In the end, the musical debaters agree to disagree and finish with a round of Auld Lang Syne. To his credit Sousa declines to takes sides in this disagreement himself.
