As you can see, I started the melody from the first beat of the bar instead of the third. In this way all the phrases became thetic instead of anacrusic, gaining a greater simplification of reading. The melody of the Deutschlandlied (German national anthem) was originally composed by Joseph Haydn as the Austrian imperial anthem Gott erhalte Franz den Kaiser and was first performed in 1797. (The lyrics of the Deutschlandlied were written by August Heinrich Hoffmann von Fallersleben in 1841 on Heligoland.) In 1922 it became the national anthem of Germany. In March 1952, President Theodor Heuss declared the third stanza of the Deutschlandlied the national anthem of the Federal Republic of Germany.Subscribe to my YouTube Channel to stay updated on new releases.
