His German name was Adalbert Paul von Kéler. During his lifetime he was a successful composer and conductor as well in Austria-Hungary as also in Germany and several European countries. His Lustspiel (Comedy) Overture op. 73 is probably one of the most known copositions of 139 opus numbers. It was first published in 1872 for symphony orchestra. Today transcriptions for band are more known than the original. This arrangement is kept in original key and is possibly close to the original. Albert Schwarzmann wrote it for his final concert as chief conductor of the municipal band of Zirl, Austria and performed it there on 6 April 2024.
