Fanfare for the Fallen seeks to honor those who have fallen in service and conjure the image of them marching into their glorious afterlife. Christianity holds that there is no greater love than laying down one's life for another, and many cultures believe that dying in battle yields glory in the great beyond. So whether marching into heaven, Valhalla or some other bright light at the end of the tunnel, let this music provide the soundtrack of trumpeting angels and one last ticker tape parade as these warriors are welcomed into their eternal home.This is a piece of intermediate difficulty with a nice melody and a John Williams' Olympic Fanfare feel to it. While the trumpets soar in their high registers for the heralding sections, the range for the rest of the piece (and the rest of the band) stays mostly in the center of the instruments. This piece was written as a way to express my feelings towards the death of George Floyd. His death was unnecessary and it sparked a movement for African-Americans. As a fellow African-American, my feelings ranged from fear, pain, and even anger. After his death, I had the inspiration to write something that will get the audience's attention. It is repetitive because the treatment and even death of my fellow African-Americans continue to happen. I ask that when you play this, try to put yourself in the shoes of African-Americans and play your part with the feeling that goes with each movement. Thank you so much for making this piece come to life! .

'Have You Met Miss Jones?' is a song from the 1937 Broadway musical I'd Rather Be Right, a Depression-era political satire set in New York City about Washington politics and political figures such as President Franklin D. Roosevelt. The plot centres on Peggy Jones and her boyfriend Phil, who needs a raise in order for them to get married; the President ultimately steps in and solves their dilemma. This jazz standard has been covered by many artists over the years, including George Shearing, Anita O'Day, Frank Sinatra, Robbie Williams and Seth MacFarlane - it is also cited as a potential inspriation, in its bridge passage, for saxophonist John Coltrane. This arrangement has been created from the jazz combo version by Michael Philip Mossman and features short solos (with suggested lines and chords) for clarinet, flute, trumpet and alto sax, with drum breaks towards the end.
