Edmondson (1933-2016).  Mr. Sturman had commissioned new works for the Wilson Jr. H. S. Warrior Band in El Centro, CA for nine years for annual Concerts of Premieres.  John B. Edmondson, one of America's leading composers of educational music, with over 800 compositions and arrangements in his catalog, had been commissioned by Mitch seven times for new works, including his last ever composition, Imperial County Impressions performed in May, 2016, prior to Mr. Sturman's retirement in June, 2016.  The first commission John had made for Mitch was his Serenade for Solo Clarinet and Band.  Mitch felt it would be a fitting tribute for me to compose a work also for solo clarinet and band.  This was composed for a memorial tribute concert for John B. Edmondson at Wilson Junior High School on April 6, 2017, where the seven pieces commissioned for the Wilson Band would be performed.  The solo clarinet, first clarinet, and first trumpet require moderately experienced players to play the parts musically.  All the rest of the parts are easily handled by a typical junior high school band.

Marie-Juliette Olga Lili Boulanger (21 August 1893 – 15 March 1918) was a French composer; her older sister was the noted composer and composition teacher Nadia Boulanger. As a child prodigy born in Paris, Boulanger's talent was apparent at a very young age; at the age of two, she was already singing melodies by ear. Her parents, both of whom were musicians, encouraged their daughter's musical education. In 1912, Boulanger competed in the Prix de Rome but during her performance she collapsed from illness. She returned in 1913 at the age of 19 to win the composition prize for her cantata 'Faust et Hélène', becoming the first woman to win the prize. Boulanger grew up in a time of musical transition and her music fits easily into what was becoming defined as a post-Romantic style. She finished this 'Pie Jesu' (1918) towards the end of her life, but the first of Lili Boulanger's sketches for the Pie Jesu are to be found in a composition book she used between 1909 and 1913. Scholars such as biographer Léonie Rosenstiel and Olivia Mattis speculate that Boulanger intended to write a complete Requiem Mass but did not live to complete it. This arrangement has been created from the original solo voice, string quartet, harp and organ for modern concert band as part of an ongoing project to bring more works by women into the worldwide repertoire.

She wrote more than 300 pieces, including works for piano solo and four hands, organ pieces, chamber music, mélodies, choral music, a mass, and works for orchestra. Though she did not have the advantage of being born into a family in the upper classes, her talent at piano led her to formal education at the Paris Conservatory where she studied with Ernest Guiraud and César Franck.  Claude Debussy was among her classmates and her music, which was largely published during her lifetime, was praised by Camille Saint-Saëns. Adoro te devote, a text by Thomas Aquinas, is one of the medieval poetic compositions, being used as spoken prayers and also as chanted hymns, which were preserved in the Roman Missal published in 1570 following the Council of Trent (1545–1563); the opus number for this lovely piece by Bonis, expanded from the original SATB to full concert band, is 149, suggesting that it was composed around the turn of the 20th century.

Throughout the show's history there have been 40 presenters. The show features a nautical title sequence and uses the chirpy 'Barnacle Bill' (in various versions throughout the years) as it's theme music. Its content, which follows a magazine/entertainment format, features viewer and presenter challenges, competitions, celebrity interviews, popular culture and sections on making arts and crafts items from household items. The programme has featured a number of pets including dogs, tortoises, cats, and parrots, many becoming household names. The longevity of Blue Peter has established it as a significant part of British culture and British heritage. As soon as you start to play this piece, which has been arranged to celebrate the centenary of the BBC in 2022, many memories will come flooding back and new ones made!

Written by Lewis, it was released as the album's lead single in the United States in April 1996 and in the United Kingdom in August that year. Inspired by the novel 'Love for Lydia' by English author H. E. Bates, the lyrics of the song declare endless love for her significant other. The song was originally titled Lydia, but was later changed because there was no mention of anyone with that name in the song. The chorus, I love you always forever, near and far closer together, is a quote taken directly from the book. The success of I Love You Always Forever earned Lewis a nomination for Best British Female Artist at the 1997 Brit Awards and in 2016, a cover version of the song by Australian pop singer Betty Who peaked at number six on the ARIA Singles Chart and topped the US Billboard Dance Club Songs chart.
