Concert Band - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1293922 Composed by Portuguese traditional music. Arranged by André Lisboa. Contest,Festival,Multicultural,Traditional,World. Score and Parts. 47 pages. André Lisboa #884406. Published by André Lisboa (A0.1293922). This piece, envisioned around Grade 4 to 4.5 (or an advanced 3.5), is a journey through the musical tradition and history of southern Portugal. This work can be well suited for a multicultural themed concert, or just as a short out-of-the-box piece to introduce new music styles from abroad. Also, by only using Bass Drum (or a muffled Floor Tom), Snare Drum, Triangle and Timpani, it doesn't require a wide range of percussion, which can be a plus for lower budget bands to still be able to perform.

Concert Band - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1370325 Composed by John McAllister. 21st Century,Contest,Festival,Instructional,March,Patriotic. 58 pages. John McAllister #954701. Published by John McAllister (A0.1370325). Compton Bridge Road is a musical journey inspired by the scenic drive along Compton Bridge Road in Inman, South Carolina. The undulating hills stretching endlessly beneath the warm embrace of the setting sun served as the impetus for this composition. Written for the Chapman High School Band, the march captures the essence of the picturesque landscape surrounding the school. The piece is loosely characterized as a pastoral march, reflecting the intention to infuse harmonies and melodies that resonate with the spirit of Americana. Drawing inspiration from how Aaron Copland's music mirrors the landscapes it depicts, the composition aims to create a sonic representation of the visual beauty of Inman. Not adhering strictly to traditional march conventions, the piece incorporates a lush trio section, enhancing the overall sense of grandeur and tranquility. While Compton Bridge Road may deviate from the conventional march style, it remains a valuable educational tool, providing opportunities for students to explore different musical elements and forms within the context of a march. This composition offers a refreshing perspective, allowing musicians to expand their understanding of the genre while maintaining essential march style and structure.

Please note that this is parts only, score can be purchased separately.Coal River Valley Rhapsody is a musical journey through the Tasmanian Coal River Valley, which is best known for its food products, such as dairy, as well as its wineries. The Coal River Valley is a predominantly agrarian region in the South East of Tasmania, with the town of Richmond as its regional centre. The region is also known for its convict history and colonial era buildings and infrastructure. The region features the historical Richmond Bridge, which is recognised as the oldest bridge in Australia. The bridge spans over the Coal River and was built by convict labour. Construction commenced in 1823, with the bridge formally opened in 1825. The town of Richmond was proclaimed a police district in 1824. It is also important to acknowledge the First Nations people of the region, the Mumirimina people. According to the Richmond 200 website, the land that is now known as Richmond and the Coal River Valley was home to the Oyster Bay nation for millennia. It is noted that the establishment of the police district in Richmond significantly “contributed to the ultimate destruction of the Mumirimina band†(Richmond 200, 2023).Although this composition has been written to commemorate the bicentenary of the Richmond Bridge, it is intended to evoke images of the landscape and the river, as well as acknowledge the past of the region, represent the present and look forwards to the region’s future.Further information can be found here: https://www.richmond200.com

Concert Band - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1239681 Composed by David M. Stewart. March. 15 pages. DMStewart Music #835072. Published by DMStewart Music (A0.1239681). This piece, The Palatka Port March, is intended to depict a little of the sense of life in the early years of Floridaon the St. John’s River. It was once a target for ships venturing out to find the New World. It has been used to ferrybarges and livestock. Some simply used it for sailing and transportation throughout the years, and some to catch fishto provide for themselves. The life on this river has been diverse, yet fulfilling over the years and will continue to beso in the future. The melodies in this piece were taken from the shape of the St. Johns River from its upper point in Jacksonville, to where our part of the story ends in Palatka. Notice the falling and rising 8th note runs at the beginning, thisrepresents the rise and the fall of the river as it enters Jacksonville from the Atlantic Ocean. The first strain is alinear, yet very regal melody where the heavy beats follow the contour of the river as it runs south. Here you canpicture the ships coming from Europe across the ocean and the excitement they felt when they reached it. Thesecond strain is more playful and represents the life that the river has provided for people for centuries. The Triorepresents the calmness and civility when Palatka was discovered, and the happiness the settlers must have feltknowing they had found their perfect place to call home. The break strain represents the hard work and efforts thatwere put forth to secure the land and build a community. There would have been many triumphs and manysuccesses, but the journey would have not been easy. The final strain is the culmination of the piece. This is thecelebration and the feeling of personal nobility that all of the settlers felt after taking a river and dirt and building acity. I hope you enjoy, The Palatka Port March!
