By Hart & Rodgers. By Lorenz Hart and Richard Rodgers. Arranged by John Ivor Holland. 20th Century,Broadway,Jazz,Latin,Musical/Show,Pop. 48 pages. John Ivor Holland #1025388. Published by John Ivor Holland (A0.1445548).

My Funny Valentine was written for the 1937 Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart coming of age musical 'Babes in Arms'. The song became a popular jazz standard, appearing on over 1300 albums performed by over 600 artists. One of them was Chet Baker, for whom it became his signature song; in 2015 the Gerry Mulligan quartet's 1953 version of the song (featuring Chet Baker) was inducted into the Library of Congress's National Recording Registry for its cultural, artistic and/or historical significance to American society and the nation’s audio legacy. The description of the male character of Valentine in the show was consistent with Lorenz Hart's own insecurities and belief that he was too short and ugly to be loved; consequently, the lyrics are sufficiently gender-neutral to allow the song to be sung about a person of any gender. This concert band arrangement has been produced from the jazz ensemble version by Michael Sweeney, created in 1988.

By George Shearing Quintet. By Lorenz Hart and Richard Rodgers. Arranged by John Ivor Holland. 20th Century,Broadway,Film/TV,Jazz,Musical/Show,Standards. 81 pages. John Ivor Holland #1079611. Published by John Ivor Holland (A0.1504155).

'Have You Met Miss Jones?' is a song from the 1937 Broadway musical I'd Rather Be Right, a Depression-era political satire set in New York City about Washington politics and political figures such as President Franklin D. Roosevelt. The plot centres on Peggy Jones and her boyfriend Phil, who needs a raise in order for them to get married; the President ultimately steps in and solves their dilemma. This jazz standard has been covered by many artists over the years, including George Shearing, Anita O'Day, Frank Sinatra, Robbie Williams and Seth MacFarlane - it is also cited as a potential inspriation, in its bridge passage, for saxophonist John Coltrane. This arrangement has been created from the jazz combo version by Michael Philip Mossman and features short solos (with suggested lines and chords) for clarinet, flute, trumpet and alto sax, with drum breaks towards the end.

When the single was originally released in the United Kingdom on 5 October 1962, it peaked at number 17. It was released in the United States in 1964 and topped the nation's song chart. Gonna Fly Now, also known as Theme from Rocky, is the theme song from the movie Rocky, composed by Bill Conti with lyrics by Carol Connors and Ayn Robbins and released in 1976. Gonna Fly Now was nominated for Best Original Song at the 49th Academy Awards. The version of the song from the movie, performed by Conti with an orchestra, hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1977, while a version by jazz trumpeter Maynard Ferguson had a 13-week run chart, eventually peaking at number 28 on June 25. While Ferguson was known to have an uncanny ability to change with the times, no one suspected that in the Spring of 1977, he would pull off the coup of his life. As AllMusic reviewer Richard Ginell put it: Maynard was shrewd, and Maynard was quick, and he managed to beat almost everyone to the punch... It had been decades since a big band recording had made the charts, but when he released his recording ahead of the soundtrack version, Ferguson scored the biggest hit of his long career.

The Loneliest is a song by Italian rock band MÃ¥neskin, released on 7 October 2022 as the third single from their third studio album Rush! (2023). The song was written by the band members with James Abrahart, Jason Evigan, Rami Yacoub and Sarah Hudson, with production by Fabrizio Ferraguzzo, during a recording session in Los Angeles, California. The Loneliest was performed live for the first time during the group's performance at Underworld in London on 6 October 2022.
The frontman Damiano David talked about the meaning of the song:

The song is somewhere between a love letter and a will. I wrote it at a very difficult time in my life, when I was away from home and the people I love. The idea is: what would I want to say to these people if I were to die? It talks about feelings that everyone can relate to, and we would love to understand how different people understand the lyrics. We are happy that we were able to take some time to write a lot of new music. We chose to come out with this single because it shows a side of us that people haven't seen yet and we wanted to start our new journey from here..
