This well-known anthem is known in many countries of the world. This arrangement is ideal for brass or woodwind quartet but the flexible instrumentation makes it playable by various combinations of conventional wind instruments. The single PDF file includes a four-staff full score in concert pitch, together with the following parts:

This arrangement captures the lively and passionate spirit of the anthem.  Arrangements for string quartet and string orchestras are also available though they are not compatible with this one because of the choice of key.

OUR NATION’S ANTHEM The Star Spangled Banner Every Band Director is entrusted with the fundamental instillation of the importance of our Nation’s Anthem to not only the musicians under his or her direction but also the audience that often varies from a concert to a community gathering and often times a sporting event. As the lives of Americans get busier and busier ‘perfect’ instrumentation at the aforementioned venues increasingly becomes more of a challenge to maintain the integrity required of any performance of the ‘Star Spangled Banner.’ This arrangement will sound great with almost any instrumentation!

An arrangement made especially for the Band of the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary of ''O Arise, All You Sons''., one og PNG's two professional military bands, the other belongs to the PNG Defence Force both based in Port Morsebly the nations captital.

O Arise, All You Sons is the national anthem of Papua New Guinea. Adopted in 1975, it was written and composed by Thomas Shacklady, a former Royal Marine who took over the band from Inspector David Crawley. I took over the band from 1994-99, after taking the band on two overseas tours to Adelaide in 1996 & Kobe in 1999.

The National Identity Act of Papua New Guinea was formulated in 1971, motivating the country to create a national flag, a national emblem, a national pledge and a national anthem. A national flag and emblem were adopted in 1971. However, the national anthem remained undecided until independence from Australia in 1975, four years later. Although many songs were submitted to be the anthem, the National Executive Council decided a week before the country's Independence Day (10 September 1975), to adopt as the national anthem a composition that was composed by Chief Inspector Thomas Shacklady (1917–2006), a bandmaster of the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary Band.

During the 2015 Pacific Games opening ceremony, the anthem was sung with the first line altered from O arise all you sons of this land to O arise sons and daughters of this land. An official later stated that this was illegal and a violation of the National Identity Act.

This advanced version of the NATIONAL ANTHEM has many familiar harmonies and walking bass lines, but I have added a few new musical items I think you will enjoy. For one thing, I put a big emphasis on FLAG WAS SITLL THERE!. You are welcome to use your own percussion parts as the ones I have written (with the exception of the mallets) are pretty much traditional.

Instrumentation: picc, flute, oboe, bassoon, clar. 1,2,3, bass clar, alto 1,2, tenor, bari, tpt 1,2,3, horn 1,2,3, trombone 1,2,3, baritone (both TC and BC parts), tuba, mallets, perc (snare, bass drum and crash cym)

The MP3 recording was created with the FINALE sounds. Naturally, it does not reproduce MARCATO style unless I input input all quarters as dotted 8ths. Actually, I start the piece CANTABILE and switch to MARCATO at and the rocket's red glare. I never could get the percussion sounds I wanted so I entered the snare roll as individual notes.
