Concert Band - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1497138 Composed by Johann Strauss Jr. Arranged by Albert Schwarzmann. 19th Century,March,Romantic Period. 51 pages. Edition Schwalbe #1073560. Published by Edition Schwalbe (A0.1497138). Reitermarsch (Riders' March) was compiled based on motifs from the operetta Simplicius, which premiered in 1887. Most likely this march was first played on 18 December 1887 in the Vienna Volksgarten, but with the title Simplicius March. With certainty it was performed by Eduard Strauss on 15 January 1888 in the Vienna Musikverein. The arrangement is kept in the original key of the composition for symphony orchestra and was commissioned and first time performed by Mozarteum Wind Philharmonic Salzburg conducted by Hansjoerg Angerer at their Three Kings' Concert on 6 January 2010 in the Grosses Festspielhaus (Large Festival Hall) in Salzburg, Austria, repeated on 6 January 2018 at the same event and broadcasted live by Austrian television.
