I composed and dedicated this piece to my 2022-2023 students of the band program at the Melaleuca Elementary School (FL). The work was premiered in May 2023.

I composed this piece using a 5 music notes scale (F to Low Bb), simple rhythmic combinations, an ABA form, unisons, and duet textures. The Score has written a Drum Set part, but I had two students playing the music (one student for the snare, the other for the bass drum). This piece will suit your beginner concert band if you are a band teacher who wants to present a concert with music other than the exercises from the band method.

Soaring With Eagles is an exciting overture for concert young concert band (grade 2 / medium easy) that will give everyone in the band a chance to shine! This is a great high-energy chart for the wind ensemble, conceived as a big band within the wind ensemble. This arrangement of the popular Eagles song is presented as performed by Michael Buble from the album Crazy Love. It is sure to excite your band and your audience alike. A hard shuffle groove that drives throughout the piece keeps toes tapping.

A strong lead trumpet is a must. It is recommended in the score notes that the core big band instrumentation should use jazz horns and saxophones should use a good metal mouthpiece. Not by any means a requirement, just a recommendation.
