What Christmas Means to Me is a fun, up-tempo R&B groove. This classic Christmas tune was famously performed by Stevie Wonder. This arrangement was inspired by the John Legend cover and the original. It features a soloistic Vibes part that will showcase your best mallet player. The alto sax is showcased with the melody throughout most of the chart. No matter the size of your group, this Christmas classic is sure to delight an audience of any age. Written for a full wind ensemble, this chart is at home in any venue. Many of the parts are single parts, and the doubling is done to facilitate performance by any number of differing instrumentations. The opening build is marked in the tuba part to add players every 4 bars. It is recommended that the tuba part be split across the section to allow individual players to get a rest. There is an optional bass part to supplement the tuba, bari sax, and bass clarinet if one is available. The optional bass clef marimba part also doubles the bass line throughout.

This is the second of a three movement work I wrote for my sixth grade band.  It followed a chat we had about how strange it would be if things were different colors, so I went  with that when titling this work.  When we performed it, the kids and I decided to perform it in the order 3 - 2  - 1.  Do what works best for your kids.  This movement is slow and flowing to help kids work on legato style.  Hope you enjoy.
