This piece is a result of reflections on important figures in my past no longer alive; family members, teachers, and other important individuals in my youth who mentored, encouraged, and guided me. It progresses through a funereal section to mark the sadness at the passing of these mentors, a melody I wrote as a child to acknowledge their importance in my life, and concludes with a quasi-heroic melody, celebrating their influence.
