It is agrade 3 band piece with a duration of five minutes. It is published by Musica Nova USA and availableon sheetmusicplus.com and jwpepper.com.Performance Notes: Set Free to go Home was composed with flexible instrumentation in mind. There are several instruments listed in the score that would enhance the piece (such as harp, oboes, double bass, ect.) but are not necessary to convey a successful performance. For example, if there are not five percussionists available, the piece may be played by less performers with the use of a drumkit, with one person playing two or more parts. This composition can sound very good whether thereare fifteen players or a band with one hundred players.Gregory Fritze is a prize-winning composer and Fulbright Scholar, as well as an active performer and conductor. Music Preparation Services #5899717. Published by Music Preparation Services (A0.908413). Minka, Minka (Concert Band - Grade 2)Traditional; arr. John M. LicariMusic Preparation Serviceswww.musicprepservices.comMinka, Minka had derived from the Ukrainian folk tune Ikhav Kozak za Dunaj and was written by Semen Klimovski.  Many composers had adapted this tune for their works, notably Ludwig van Beethoven and Carl Maria von Weber.  This arrangement tries to capture the Eastern European feel that one may characterize (or caricaturize).      This arrangement started off as an assignment while taking Composing and Arranging for School Bands with Dr. Scott Watson (Alfred, Hal Leonard, Wingert-Jones) at Central Connecticut State University in the summer of 2014.    Minka, Minka is arranged in band-friendly C-harmonic minor.  A few items to remember:    - Upper winds have a minor second trill on concert Ab to A?  - The section starting at 53 should be played as delicate as one would allow.  - The section starting at 69 should appear to gain momentum.  - The section starting at 88 should be equal or stronger than it has first appeared.

Concert Band - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.796595 Composed by Gary D. Belshaw. Folk,Holiday,Patriotic. Score and parts. 196 pages. DR GARY D BELSHAW #2958023. Published by DR GARY D BELSHAW (A0.796595). Set of Parts. 194 pages, letter format sheets, intended to be printed in booklet format; blank sheets are included to make each part come out with the appropriate number of pages.Composed for the U. S. Naval Academy Band, the Navy's oldest band, and the third oldest military ban in the United States. The march is a tribute to the ensemble in honor of its 150th Anniversary and premiered at their gala Sesquicentennial concert in 2003. In 6/8 meter, the march features a chromatic Introduction built on a 12-tone row. The First and Second strains (in F Major) are lively, bright, and completely tonal. The incipit of the trio (in B-flat) consists of the first four notes of Anchors Aweigh. This is significant for the USNA Band because it was composed by Lt. Charles A. Zimmermann, selected as Bandmaster of the ensemble in 1887 at the age of 26, and Midshipman First Class Alfred Hart Miles, supposed while seated at the Naval Academy Chapel organ. The trio is played three times; the first is interrupted by the Break Strain. The Introduction then serves to both conclude the Break Strain and to transition into the first repeat of the Tiro, this time featuring the saxophone section on the countermelody. One more Break Strain and Introduction builds to the final statement of the Trio, with coda and triplet stinger. The conductor's score is available separately right here in Sheet Music Plus.

Concert Band - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1281978 Composed by John P.W. Hudson. 20th Century,Contest,Festival. Score and Parts. 90 pages. 'Published by John P.W. Hudson #872903. Published by 'Published by John P.W. Hudson (A0.1281978). Premiered June 6th, 2023 by the Killarney Senior Wind Ensemble and Alumni directed by Meagan Lawson, 'Killarney Carnivale' is a programmatic piece describing a small town carnival in rural Manitoba in the early 1930's, spotlighting the family of the town dentist, Dr. Martin McLaren, his wife Irene, and their six girls. 'Killarney Carnivale' describes a fictitious event, but the family is that of the composer, John Hudson. His mother, (second in a family of six girls), as a young teen in Killarney Manitoba, loved playing piano and aspired to be a concert pianist playing her favourite composers in concert halls. Her dreams took a different turn when the family had to move west for Dr. McLaren's health, but she carried with her the melodies she composed and later played to her own children.Picture John Hudson listening to hours of his mother playing piano as a young boy in the early 1950's, immersed in his mother's beautiful music. After her passing in 2010, he longed to hear these beautiful, playful melodies again. His sister Jane Keyes had become a professional piano player and happily took up the task of recreating several of their mother's pieces, which John, now a retired band director, began to transcribe. Inspired by a photograph of the family that very much looked like a carnival booth style photograph, 'Killarney Carnivale' came to life. It opens as the youngest, probably under age two at the time, wakes up. The scene swiftly changes to arrival at the much - anticipated carnival, with all of its magical sights, sounds and heavenly smells of popcorn and treats. First is the carousel, with wooden horses flying about in endless circles with children regaling with laughter. The next is a sideshow tent featuring the exotic dancer Salome, who wiled King Herod, (and probably more than a few in the audience) as her thin, tantalizing veils hinted at her charms. The next tent is dim and displays the wierd and mysterious curiosities from around the world like bearded ladies, dwarfs and the like. The cakewalk is next, with children vying to be the last person sitting as chairs are removed and the music abruptly stops each time. (This section could host a real cakewalk with a few chairs and willing audience participation. Three chairs is suggested.)Finally, the exhausted family drives home in their antique (to us) automobile with the childrens' hair flying in the breeze. One by one, the excited children fall prey to dreamland, and at long last, the exhausted parents flop into bed too.Honouring his mother's short pieces has been a life long dream of Mr. Hudson, and to hear them played by the Killarney Wind Ensemble and Alumni Band was a poignant moment: the return of these melodies to the little town where they first came to life. Many, many thanks to Meagan Lawson, their director, and all of the members of the Killarney band who so very willingly took up the challenge of playing 'Killarney Carnivale'. Their hard work and dedication to this piece is deeply, deeply appreciated.
