Composed by Aric Noble. Contemporary,Folk. Score and parts. 10 pages. Aric Noble #5306619. Published by Aric Noble (A0.1025077).

Over the past few years I have become obsessed with Norse Mythology, and I mean real Norse Mythology. I say that with
quotes because in my research I realized that a lot of people tell different stories. This is mainly because back when Christianity was growing,
the Christians saw anything that wasn't Christian as pagan, so they got rid of it all. So that is why Greek, Roman, and Norse religions faded into mythologies, and
all that was left was passed around in folk tales. And also because Marvel tells a very different tale of the mythology than the research I have collected and I want people to know these stories.

Now moving passed the history lesson and into the music. This is interesting for me because this is the biggest original piece
that I've ever made. This is going to be a multimovement piece, and this is the 1st movement, Ginnungagap, the endless void.
This movement describes The Void, and the two lands of Fire(Muspelheim) and Ice(Niflhiem).

Starting with The Void, it describes the blackness, and I use the absence of instruments to give this feeling, but however to give
2 of the other themes to foreshadow it.  It moves into this wild cascading theme for the Niflheim theme to describe the cold cascading environment of the world.

After that it slows into a dark and ominous theme for Muspelheim(Surtr's Destiny). This was an interesting part to make
because in mythology, Surtr, also referred to as Surt,  is the fabled fire giant who destroys Asgard. No one knows where he
comes from, but from the moment of his creation, he knew of his destiny to destroy Asgard so he spent all of his time
forging his sword to burrow into Asgard.  I used a break drum to symbolize a hammer hitting an anvil to forge a sword,
a lingering sound of Surtr's destiny.

After this, I brought both themes together to resemble The Clash of the two worlds to create the Norse universe.

The final theme in this first movement is entitled I am Ymir. In myhtology, Ymir is the father of everything. Created from the
clash, he gave creation to all the gods, humans, giants, elves, and dwarves. This final theme takes Surtr's theme and flips
it to be mo.

By The Secret Garden Ensemble. By Lucy Simon and Marsha Norman. Arranged by Alberto Caeiro. Broadway,Musical/Show,New Age. Score and Parts. 34 pages. Alberto Caeiro #873559. Published by Alberto Caeiro (A0.1282254).

This arrangement for orchestra and voice, is made for young and youth orchestra, with a simple and homogeneous writing.
The orchestral formation contains:

2 flutes
2 oboes
3 clarinets
1 bass clarinet
2 Saxophones
3 trumpets
2 horns
2 trombones
1 euphonium
1 tuba
4 percussion instruments
1 Solo Voice

The entire arrangement is mindful of the range of the instruments, making it not too difficult to play and allowing for the exploration of the timbres of the woodwind and brass instruments.

The arrangement has a different introduction and ending than the original, but it does not change the tonality or form of the original piece. This makes it more interesting by incorporating percussion in both parts.

The Secret Garden is a musical based on the 1911 novel of the same name by Frances Hodgson Burnett. The musical's script and lyrics are by Marsha Norman, with music by Lucy Simon. It premiered on Broadway in 1991 and ran for 709 performances. The story is set in the early years of the 20th century.

The Girl I mean to be is a powerful and inspirational song about self-discovery and empowerment. The song is a ballad about a young woman struggling to find her place in the world. She constantly feels judged and compared to others, and she's tired of feeling like she's not good enough.

However, the song's protagonist eventually realizes that she is the only one who can define who she is. She sings, I'm the only one who knows what I want to be. She realizes that she doesn't need to change herself to please others. She is perfect the way she is.

The song ends with the protagonist declaring that she is going to be the girl she wants to be. She sings, I'm gonna be the girl I wanna be, no matter what they say. She is determined to be herself, no matter what others think.

Composed by Public Domain Children and s Song. Arranged by James K. Taylor. Contemporary. Score and parts. 6 pages. James K. Taylor #50595. Published by James K. Taylor (A0.872428).

This is a fun arrangement of SKIP TO MY LOU (and won’t you have fun saying the title?). I use a fail safe beginning band instrumentation. 1. Flute, Oboe, Bells 2. clarinet (trumpet double) no playing across the break 3. Alto Sax 4. Tenor Sax (horn double) 5. Trumpet (clarinet double) 6. Horn (tenor sax double) 7. Trombone, baritone, bassoon (bass clarinet and bari sax double) 8. Tuba 9. Percussion (snare and bass drum) I include a bass clarinet/baritone TC part and a bari sax part. Measures are numbered in both score and parts. I keep the horns low to work on accuracy and a big sound instead of doubling the alto part. I retired last year after 38 years of Texas band directing. This formula worked great with my beginning bands. Thanks. Jim Taylor (James K.).

Composed by Edward Elgar. Arranged by Joel Jacklich (A.S.C.A.P.). Romantic Period. Score and parts. 76 pages. Joel Jacklich #640816. Published by Joel Jacklich (A0.1035592).

PROGRAM NOTE: Rosemary - That's for remembrance.... In 1882, Sir Edward Elgar jotted down in his musical notebook a piano piece he titled Douce Pensée (Sweet Thought). There it remained until 1913 when he got it out again, revised it slightly, re-titled it Rosemary - That's for remembrance, and published it for the first time. The title comes from Ophelia's Garland Speech in Shakespeare's Hamlet, where she says, There's rosemary, that's for remembrance. Pray you, love, remember. In 1915, the First World War had been raging in Europe for a year, and many British composers and poets had turned to artistic means to mourn those who died in the trenches of across the Channel. Elgar orchestrated the work at that time. In 1925, London publisher W. Paxton published arrangements by C. Jenkins made for brass and reed band and for military band; however, these are now out of print and no longer available. In the fall of 2015, Mitch Sturman, director of the Wilson Junior High School Warrior Band in El Centro, California, asked me to make an arrangement of Rosemary for the Eighth Annual Concert of Premieres, a series Sturman had begun in 2008, commissioning new works by known composers, and commissioning new arrangements of pieces he felt were worthy works in the public domain that were no longer in print and/or were written for ensembles containing instruments no longer part of the standard modern band or orchestra. INSTRUMENTATION: Flute I (4), Flute II (4), Oboe (1), Clarinet I (4), Clarinet II (4), Clarinet III (4), Bass Clarinet (1), Bassoon (1), Alto Saxophone (4), Tenor Saxophone (2), Baritone Saxophone (1); Trumpet I (3), Trumpet II (3), French Horn (2), Baritone Horn T.C. (2), Baritone Horn B.C. (2), Trombone (6), Tuba (2); Timpani [F2, B-flat 2] (1), Snare Drum (1),Triange (1), Suspended Cymbal (1), Bass Drum (1), Glockenspiel (1). Composed by Germaine Tailleferre. Arranged by Paul Wehage. 20th Century,Contemporary,Instructional. Score and parts. 17 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #432815. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.533052).

In the late 1990s, a score was found in Germaine Tailleferre’s papers with the title page “Choral et Fugue pour orchestre d’harmonie” and a dedication “à L'Harmonie Municipale de Lyon”. The pages which followed contained the score of “Choral” for organ with optional brass and “Fugue” for orchestra. When the late composer Desiré Dondeyne was consulted concerning this score, he confirmed that this work had been projected, but refused to say anything further on the subject. Research was undertaken to try to locate a scale in the municipal archives of the City of Lyons (as the Municipal Band no longer exists) but proved to be unsucessful. It is unclear whether or not Tailleferre intended to undertake this work herself or if she intended to entrust it (as she often did) to Dondeyne. In any case, it would appear that the concert band version for this work was probably never completed. Paul Wehage, a longtime scholar of the works of Tailleferre, has undertaken the orchestration of this work The Fugue movement remains close to Tailleferre’s original version for orchestra. The choral section is entirely rescored. Instrumentation : Piccolo Flute I and II Oboe I and II English Horn Bassoon 1 and II Eb clarinet Bb clarinet I, II and III Alto Clarinet Bass Clarinet Alto Saxophone I and II Tenor Saxophone Baritone Saxophone Bb Cornet I, II and III Bb trumpet I and II F Horn I-IV Trombone I, II and III Baritone Tuba Timpani Percussion 1: snare drum Percussion II: bass drum Percussion III: triangle, two cymbals, xylophone, suspended cymbal duration ca. 7:00 This set contains the full score. The Loneliest is a song by Italian rock band MĂĄneskin, released on 7 October 2022 as the third single from their third studio album Rush! (2023). The song was written by the band members with James Abrahart, Jason Evigan, Rami Yacoub and Sarah Hudson, with production by Fabrizio Ferraguzzo, during a recording session in Los Angeles, California. The Loneliest was performed live for the first time during the group's performance at Underworld in London on 6 October 2022.
The frontman Damiano David talked about the meaning of the song:

The song is somewhere between a love letter and a will. I wrote it at a very difficult time in my life, when I was away from home and the people I love. The idea is: what would I want to say to these people if I were to die? It talks about feelings that everyone can relate to, and we would love to understand how different people understand the lyrics. We are happy that we were able to take some time to write a lot of new music. We chose to come out with this single because it shows a side of us that people haven't seen yet and we wanted to start our new journey from here..
