Item Number: S0.616185 The composition of La Vega completed in 1897. It is interesting to note that Albeniz almost completely abandoned the composition of piano works after La Vega, although his fame was mainly focused on the works for this instrument. Although La Vega was planned as part of a cycle of melodies written on poems by his patron Money-Coutts and was therefore used as an independent piece of an orchestra suite, this work was originally composed for piano. According to the autographed dating found on the last page of the manuscript, Albeniz finished La Vega at first on January 26, 1897 in Auteuil, in a Paris neighborhood. In the course of the following weeks, decided to make profound changes. He deleted the last five pages of the Vega, added six at the beginning and composed a different ending of seven more pages. This revision ended in Paris on February 14, 1897, and Albeniz wrote down on the last page: La Alhambra, symphonic suite on poems by F. B. Money-Coutts: nÂş 1: La Vega. La Vega is an evocation of the Granada plains on the edge of the city, a musical reflection, as the composer put it, contemplated from the Alhambra Palace. Claude Debussy, on hearing Albeniz play the piece, enthusiastically told him of his wish to immediately go and discover Granada.

Full Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1408248 Composed by Sergei Lyapunov. Arranged by Arkady Leytush. 20th Century. 72 pages. Arkady Leytush #990829. Published by Arkady Leytush (A0.1408248). Sergei Lyapunov, the centenary of his death, which we celebrate this year, was a brilliant pianist, gifted composer and teacher. His scherzo, modestly titled “Humoresque,” is a brilliant virtuoso piece in which, thanks to symphonic development, I heard a potential orchestra. Working on the orchestral transcription of this work was an absolute pleasure for me, since the soloists and groups of the future orchestra reproduced exclusively in accordance with their nature, character and mobility. In other words, to put it in theatrical language, the casting turned out to be very successful. In a regular score, the overall sound takes on a different scale and can delight listeners and musicians with excellent virtuosic compositions, updating the standard repertoire.

Full Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1471489 Composed by Franz Liszt. Arranged by Arkady Leytush. 19th Century. 48 pages. Arkady Leytush #1049262. Published by Arkady Leytush (A0.1471489). Funérailles, #7 from Liszt’s « Poetic and Religious Harmonies», one of the greatest works of his late period. This impressionistic elegy is strikingly beautiful. Its deep tragedy sometimes reaches the greatest heights, magnetically involving listeners and forcing them to empathize. In my transcription, I tried to use all possible means of a large orchestra to emphasize the features of this music, the changes in the nature of the three main themes, and also to build the overall dramaturgy of the entire work. Liszt’s orchestral thinking underlying this work makes it possible to organically transfer this work to the orchestra. I must admit that despite my experience in such work, I was so captivated by the content and character of this music that at times I was forced to stop due to a sharp increase in my pulse up to 130 beats!

Full Orchestra - Digital Download SKU: A0.1008422 Composed by Camille Saint-Saens. Arranged by Arkady Leytush. 20th Century. Score and parts. 57 pages. Arkady Leytush #6535793. Published by Arkady Leytush (A0.1008422). I would rather call this opus by Saint-Saens The Frenchman in Morocco. It is known that composer S-S traveled a lot during his rather long and productive life. Despite the obvious oriental flavor of the thematic material in this work, one can clearly feel the western cut, the clarity of the form and the recognizability of the techniques characteristic of classical music. In my transcription, I have not tried to imitate his transparent and always convincing orchestrations. This music itself led me on the path of creating a picture from the Arab world.

Full Orchestra - Digital Download SKU: A0.1008418 Composed by Manuel de Falla. Arranged by Arkady Leytush. 20th Century. Score and parts. 23 pages. Arkady Leytush #6440739. Published by Arkady Leytush (A0.1008418). This remarkably colorful part gives great pleasure with its liberation, colorfulness and originality of the Spanish and Cuban musical traditions.  Written in three-part form, this music in particular is notable for its peculiar rhythms and metric comparisons. If in the 1st and last parts I use quite recognizable percussion instruments such as: Triangle, Snare Drum, Castanets, Cymbals, Gong, which indicates more Spanish traditions in classical music, then in the middle part it is mostly Cuban folk music, colored and emphasized by such percussion as: Claves, Cowbell, Bongo and Conga Drums. Undoubtedly, the percussion instruments in this part of my transcription are a very recognizable element, but not the only one that can be determined with careful listening.
