Full Orchestra - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.991609 Composed by Christopher Wolfe. Contemporary. Score and parts. 82 pages. Christopher Wolfe #3019975. Published by Christopher Wolfe (A0.991609). Written in 2007 for the Luton Symphony Orchestra in Bedfordshire, England, the Anasazi Overture is a fun and crowd-pleasing concert overture that combines beautiful Coplandesque string playing with exciting Hans Zimmer style brass. The piece is based on two Native American folk tunes; A Hopi lullaby and a Pueblo corn grinding song. The instrumentation of the piece is without percussion as the original intent of the work was to Make it cheap to play. It features double winds and brass with the exception of a 3rd horn part. The level of playing for the strings is quite advanced and the piece is suitable for all-county, all-state, youth orchestras, semiprofessional and professional groups. Some of the advanced techniques required involve heavy double-stopping and high shifting positions for the strings and Hans Zimmer style cuivre for the horns (NOTE: NOT STOPPED HORN) as well as upward rips. The included MP3 recording is the first live performance of the work by the amateur group it was composed for, but I am confident that this piece will prove to be fun and exciting to play for even professional orchestras. This set contains 1 of each part. Permission is given to create copies of the parts for each player in the orchestra as needed. The work has been quite popular with those who have played it. I can be contacted at wolfiemeister@yahoo.com with any questions regarding the work.

Full Orchestra - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.730488 Composed by James Nathaniel Holland. Contemporary,Folk,World. Score and parts. 315 pages. James Nathaniel Holland #4359113. Published by James Nathaniel Holland (A0.730488). INDIVIDUAL INSTRUMENT PARTS only, Full score sold separately. Haitian voodoo rhythms, and gods Damballa Wedo, Papa Legba, Ezulie, Baron Zamdi the Gede are brought to the orchestral concert stage in this second symphony of American composer James Nathaniel Holland, who served for a while in Haiti in the US Peace Corps in the 1990s. The symphony for large orchestra is divided into three movements. It begins with a rousing invocation which melts into a sensitive section, sympathetic of the human condition and of the Republic of the Caribbean island of Haiti. The second movement, actually three sections, is very a very African sounding fugue that changes into a contraposition of the quiet, mysterious Minwet and the European French Minuet, and ends with an almost church joyous, dance of complex percussion, call and response. The last movement incorporates multimedia of the beauty of spoken Kreyol language: stating that we, ourselves, are the gods expressed in the Haitian folk dances. And ends with an energetic Haitian carnival section.   Great, varied and different, showpiece for any symphony orchestral concert with overtones of jazz and Afro Carib music. Full Orchestra - Digital Download SKU: A0.480315 Composed by James Horner. Arranged by Kevin Riley. 20th Century,Film/TV,Patriotic. Score and parts. 32 pages. Published by Kevin Riley (A0.480315). Apollo 13 is a 1995 American space docudrama film directed by Ron Howard and starring Tom Hanks, Kevin Bacon, Bill Paxton, Ed Harris and Gary Sinise. The screenplay by William Broyles Jr. and Al Reinert dramatizes the aborted 1970 Apollo 13 lunar mission and is an adaptation of the 1994 book Lost Moon: The Perilous Voyage of Apollo 13, by astronaut Jim Lovell and Jeffrey Kluger. The film depicts astronauts Lovell, Jack Swigert and Fred Haise aboard Apollo 13 for America's fifth crewed mission to the Moon, which was intended to be the third to land. En route, an on-board explosion deprives their spacecraft of much of its oxygen supply and electrical power, which forces NASA's flight controllers to abort the Moon landing and turns the mission into one of seeking scientific and mechanical solutions to get the three men home safely. Howard went to great lengths to create a technically accurate movie, employing NASA's assistance in astronaut and flight-controller training for his cast and obtaining permission to film scenes aboard a reduced gravity aircraft for realistic depiction of the weightlessness experienced by the astronauts in space. Released to cinemas in the United States on June 30, 1995, Apollo 13 received critical acclaim and was nominated for nine Academy Awards, including Best Picture (winning for Best Film Editing and Best Sound). The film also won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, as well as two British Academy Film Awards. In total, the film grossed over $355 million worldwide during its theatrical releases.

Full Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.755154 Composed by Sy Brandon. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and parts. 174 pages. Sy Brandon #3408009. Published by Sy Brandon (A0.755154). Origins musically represents three important recent scientific explorations of space and matter that are designed to give humans a better understanding of the origins of the universe and the origins of life. The first movement, Black Holes and Cyclotrons, represents the quest to understand and reproduce the relationship between gravitation and energy that scientists believe caused the big bang and our ever-expanding universe. The music of this movement represents the danger inherent in these explorations into the unknown. There are sections of the movement that are lighter in nature that depict subatomic particles dancing around in a particle accelerator. The end of the movement increases in tempo reflecting the ever-increasing speeds of particle accelerators and the gravitational pull of black holes. The Surface of Mars is the title of the second movement that depicts NASA’s Mars Exploration Rover Mission. The rovers Spirit and Opportunity have explored the surface of Mars and have revealed the surface as being mostly a barren landscape void of life. The outer sections of this movement reflect this discovery. The middle section of the movement represents the excitement of one of the rovers finding indications of water having existed on Mars and therefore the possibility that life may have also existed. The third movement, Window Into Deep Space, is a tribute to the Hubble Space Telescope. This movement has many uplifting sections as the Hubble Space Telescope has provided views of the universe never before seen from Earth. It also has sections of anxiety as this mission was wrought with several failures that nearly derailed it. The promise of increased understanding of our universe is reflected in the ending of this composition. The score prints on legal size paper and the parts on letter.

Full Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1428144 By Queen. By Brian May. Arranged by John Langley / Studio Orchestrations. Broadway,Film/TV,Musical/Show,Opera,Pop,Rock. 114 pages. Www.studio-orchestrations.com #1008972. Published by www.studio-orchestrations.com (A0.1428144). This arrangement / score is set in E Minor, the original key of the recorded song.  Versions of this same score will be available on this website in both D Minor [Down a Tone / 2 Steps] and also C sharp Minor [Down a minor 3rd / 3 steps] to give your vocal soloist and choir key options.Amid a truly extraordinary and long back catalogue of amazing songs written and performed by QUEEN, Who wants to live forever stands out as one of their greatest and most popular musical achievements.  Written originally for the 1986 Sean Connery/Christopher Lambert film HIGHLANDER it highlighted the incredible range of musical output the band were capable of, being best known for their rock music output.  It became a poignant and wistful anthem for the great Freddie Mercury who died only a matter of 5 years later. It is the most incredible song and in this arrangement combines symphony orchestra, with rock singer, rhythm section and for added value optional SATB chorus, bringing an additional  texture to what is already an epic piece. The Youtube link below (in the lower key of C# Minor) illustrates the power of this version in an incarnation recorded during lockdown in 2020 with the combined forces of the Welsh National Opera orchestra and chorus and Welsh, TV stage and Hollywood actor star Luke Evans.  All individual tracks and performances were recorded in their singers and musicians own homes, then mixed, spliced and compiled into what many have now come to regard as a classic. Both this and the WNO version were arranged by John Langley and pay a respectful tribute to the original version and its composer Brian May. We commend this for any concert of film or popular music with your professional, semi-professional or intermediate orchestra, choir and soloist.  [The choir is optional but the piece is much more epic with one!]INSTRUMENTATION:2 Flutes1 Oboe1 Clarinet1 Bassoon4 Horns2 Trumpets3 TrombonesTimpani2 Percussion [Cymbals / Bass Drum / Snare Drum / Cabasa or small shaker]Piano/KeyboardElectric GuitarBass GuitarDrum KitRock - Tenor SoloistSATB [Optional but desirable!]Strings.
