Full Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1211732 Composed by Pascual Marquina Narro. Arranged by Pablo Guerrero-Martín. Classical,Contest,Festival,Folk,March,Multicultural,World. Score and Parts. 51 pages. Pablo Guerrero-Martín #809346. Published by Pablo Guerrero-Martín (A0.1211732). España cañí (meaning Gypsy Spain in Spanish) is a famous instrumental Spanish piece of pasodoble music by Pascual Marquina Narro (1873–1948). The song was written around 1923 and first recorded in 1926. Its main refrain (eight bars of arpeggiated chords that go from E major to F major (with added 4 instead of 5) to G major and back) is arguably the best known snippet of Spanish music and is popular worldwide.Several arrangements of the tune are often used for the Latin Paso Doble dance (to the point that, among Latin dancers, it is known as the paso doble song as it is very commonly played in competition due to the common custom for the choreography to match the phrasing and accents of the music for the full effect of the dance). The song has also been used as the theme song for Pablo Sanchez in the Backyard Sports games.

Full Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1164156 Composed by Jeremiah Clarke. Arranged by Jim Hopson. Baroque,Classical,Historic,March,Wedding. Score and Parts. 43 pages. Phonos Music #764501. Published by Phonos Music (A0.1164156). Commonly known as ‘Trumpet Voluntary’, ‘The Prince of Denmark’s March’ is English baroque composer Jeremiah Clarke’s most celebrated work. Commonly played and wedding and commencement ceremonies, this iconic piece has been featured in countless movies, television programmes, and popular music releases. It is arranged here for full symphony orchestra (2222-4231, timp, perc, harp, piano, strings), featuring two trumpets in D (commonly played on A piccolo trumpet) set against a lush and regal backdrop of strings and winds. We believe this arrangement to be the definitive modern orchestration of this piece, using the full tonal palette of the modern symphony orchestra to create an air of majesty and excitement.

Full Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1027336 Composed by Jeremy Goh, Daniel Cheng. Contemporary. Score and parts. 78 pages. Jeremy Goh #12125. Published by Jeremy Goh (A0.1027336). We present a work composed as a tongue-in-cheek expression of a popular street tune heard today, put through a series of 5 variations that explore different styles. It works in both a satirical as well as sophisticated manner vertically and horizontally, and uses multiple cliches that will get the audience perking up in recognition. The theme, 贺新年, is a common tune sung in Chinese New Year celebrations. In the heart of celebrating the New Year, this piece is written playable by musicians of all ages, whether in schools or as community orchestras and bands, to come together by the common celebratory notion in a work for an extended orchestra, including the saxophone and euphonium. Written by Daniel Cheng and Jeremy Goh, we hope that this season this piece can bring both laughter and reverence to the street tune, blown out of proportion in style and size. Starting the work is an atonal entry, built on tone rows and planing, legacies of Shoenberg and his contemporaries, before decomposing into an exceedingly lively statement of the theme. This is then juxtaposed beside a trip to tribal communities with interlocking rhythms and a modal distortion of the melody. From the modal mess and deviation from diatonicism, we then return to the prim and proper style of Mozart and Haydn in a short Classical variation. As if to mock its neat stature, this then is shattered with a juxtaposition beside a variation in the style of Shostakovich, modelled after the controversial Leningrad symphony, which draws on a different dimension of the theme, its banality, and propagating and emulsifying it to terrifying levels as it is distorted. Finally, a schreckenfanfare is directed marking an entry into a tribute to one of the greatest legends in music composition, with Beethoven along with its transcendental qualities of cyclism, and use of learned styles, methods of maintaining tension etc., bringing a grand ending to the 10 minute long work.

Full Orchestra - Digital Download SKU: A0.976722 Composed by LOBE DEN HERREN. Arranged by Robert Myers. Christian,Contemporary,Sacred. Score and parts. 64 pages. WheatMyer Music #4808643. Published by WheatMyer Music (A0.976722). Joachim Leander's Praise to the LORD, the Almighty, as translated by Catherine Winkworth, has consistently been one of the most published hymns in the English language since the mid-20th Century. Its anonymously composed tune, LOBE DEN HERREN, almost exclusively paired with this text since the 17th Century, is also much loved. Even J.S. Bach found it suitable to feature in his 137th cantata.  The title of this arrangement, Ponder Anew, as taken from the commonly used third stanza of the hymn, Ponder anew what the Almighty can do, invites one to consider afresh the attributes and works of Almighty God as one listens to this completely new setting of the tune. This arrangement for orchestra features three variations of the complete hymn tune utilizing metrical and harmonic changes to maintain focus on the tune and its text. These are bracketed via repetitions of the first five tune pitches in harmonic planing over a crescendoed pedal tone producing steadily increasing tension with unexpected resolutions of the beginning and concluding phrases. The music in not particularly difficult and should be readily playable by high school or higher level musicians. Yet, both musicians and audience will find the work interesting and enjoyable with music that reflects the majesty and mystery of its subject. Full Orchestra - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1018900 Composed by Benjamin Harry Sajo. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and parts. 79 pages. Benjamin Sajo #6056141. Published by Benjamin Sajo (A0.1018900). Programme Notes: Icarus Also Flew takes its title from the first line of the poem Failing and Flying by Jack Gilbert. He is referring to the classical myth of Daedalus and Icarus, an inventive father and son who bravely escape from their imprisonment in a tower by collecting the disposed feathers of seabirds, then fashion wings out of them and fly away. While the story is often treated as a morality tale--listen to your elders, don’t get cocky like the young man, Icarus, who, in such an understandable state of elation, ascended too close to the sun thus causing the wings to melt and his tumbling to his Mediterranean death--what Jack Gilbert reminds us is how regardless of one’s failure, the sheer transcendental experience of mortal flight remains glorious and unforgettable. Icarus’s fall was not into a legacy of disdain and oblivion, but in truth, he had come to the end of his triumph. This piece was the first of a series I composed during the Covid-19 quarantine conditions of 2020, to serve as potential contemporary preludes for each of Ludwig van Beethoven’s nine symphonies--his two hundred and fiftieth anniversary was this year!--though they can all stand on their own on any program. The connection, in this case, is with his celebrated fifth symphony in C minor--the Fate symphony, as it is commonly known. I’ll let the listener find their own connections.About the Composer:Benjamin Sajo (b. 1988) is a Canadian composer of contemporary classical music, as well as an educator. Since developing a fiercely independent creative voice upon the completion of his studies at Western (2010) and McGill Universities (2013), he continues to find inspiration from the intersection of mythology, art, and nature upon the contemporary human experience. In 2019, he released his premiere album of original music, The Great War Sextet: Canadian War Poetry with Trombone & Strings, with support from the Ontario Arts Council. He is a member of SOCAN and the League of Canadian Composers.

Full Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.798392 Composed by Peter De Rose. Arranged by Paul Hemmer. Contemporary. Score and parts. 57 pages. PJMS MUSIC #6610167. Published by PJMS MUSIC (A0.798392). A Marshmallow World was written in 1949 by Carl Sigman and Peter DeRose. It is commonly regarded as a Christmas song, although the lyrics make no mention of the holiday. Bing Crosby had the first hit version followed by Ray Anthony, Vic Damone, Johnny Desmond and many others. Dean Martin revived it in the 1970s and Phil Spector's version  with Darlene Love was an R&B hit. This arrangement for SATB chorus or swing choir and full orchestra features right harmony and 3 key changes  (C to Db to Eb) and a surprise ending. The YouTube demo was created by NoteReader3 and is intended only for demonstration.
