Digital Set of Parts for 65/2106L Joel Raney calls on Celtic musical traditions and instrumentation to deliver a refreshing sound for Christmas! The orchestration by Ed Hogan incorporates Irish flutes, drums, acoustic guitar, and fiddle to paint vivid imagery of a beautifully lush and green Irish countryside. Familiar Christmas carols appear, as do some familiar Christmas texts set to beloved Irish and Welsh folk songs. An ethereal opening sets the stage before breaking into an exuberant rendition of I Saw Three Ships. Come, Thou Long-Expected Jesus; Away in a Manger; Gentle Mary Laid Her Child; and the beloved Angels We Have Heard on High all make appearances as the work progresses, culminating with a rhythmic re-imagining of O Come, All Ye Faithful set to the traditional Scottish melody Loch Lomond. One of the highlights of this musical is O Holy Night, written for soloist and choir and set to the timeless tune, LONDONDERRY AIR. Present the Christmas story in a uniquely captivating way with this imaginative work!

Fengyang Flower Drum is a folk song from Anhui Province, China. It was very popular in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. This song is a folk ditty. One of the lyrics describes the plight of residents in Fengyang County, Anhui Province in the early Ming Dynasty, and insinuates that Zhu Yuanzhang failed to take care of the people in his hometown, making them unable to settle down and live in their hometown. 

The string part of this adapted version is derived from the arrangement by composer Bob Phillips, and the wind and percussion parts are configured according to the characteristics of traditional Chinese music, making it a complete symphonic work. Also, I was trying to add saxophone section into my orchestration to enhance and support the middle timbre of the orchestra, because the saxophone has a deeper sound to across the strings and woodwinds smoothly.

This adapted version is suitable for students with beginning level in orchestra performance, allowing students to feel the charm of symphonic music with simple techniques, and experience traditional Chinese culture and history.

This prelude was included as number 5 in his Opus 23, a set of ten preludes for solo piano. Rachmaninoff himself premiered this prelude in Moscow in 1903, along with Preludes 1 and 2 from this set. It begins with quiet yet decisive sixteenth note figures setting the mood for a minor march. Following this, the relative major Eb comes in full force expanding this sixteenth note figure with a descant-like melody. After a return to g minor, the energy of the opening march dissipates as a new lyrical melody takes the forefront, accompanied by sweeping arpeggios. This section is much melancholier than before. As this theme fades, the march returns slowly out of the mist that the previous section created. It builds to the return of the Eb major section that leads into a continuation of the march theme. This fades into a quick rising figure to finish the prelude. This arrangement captures both the energy of the march and the beauty of the lyrical middle section.
