Full Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1077397 Composed by Jerry Goldsmith. Arranged by Chris Siddall. Film/TV. Score and parts. 8 pages. Chris Siddall Music Publishing #681583. Published by Chris Siddall Music Publishing (A0.1077397). After Phillip Lambro’s original score for Chinatown was rejected at the last minute, composer Jerry Goldsmith was brought in to “save the dayâ€. It’s amazing to think that what is now considered a classic score, and a template for the film noir sound, was written in only ten days. In a meeting with producer Robert Evans, it was suggested that they wanted a contemporary 1930s feel to the music, but Jerry pushed back on this idea saying that this was already displayed on the screen, and that the underscore should enhance the emotion, and emotions are timeless. Jerry hadn’t yet considered what he was going to write, when asked what he envisiged in terms of orchestration, so he quickly replied “four pianos, four harps, strings, solo trumpet and two percussion†which Evans liked the idea of. Having spoken himself into this “trapâ€, Jerry then had to go home and write it, and it turned out to be an interesting combination of instruments to write for Created from the original manuscript, this release offers a rare opportunity to study film music in its authentic, original orchestration and arrangement. An opportunity not to be missed!

Www.studio-orchestrations.com #1008972. Published by www.studio-orchestrations.com (A0.1428144). This arrangement / score is set in E Minor, the original key of the recorded song.  Versions of this same score will be available on this website in both D Minor [Down a Tone / 2 Steps] and also C sharp Minor [Down a minor 3rd / 3 steps] to give your vocal soloist and choir key options.Amid a truly extraordinary and long back catalogue of amazing songs written and performed by QUEEN, Who wants to live forever stands out as one of their greatest and most popular musical achievements.  Written originally for the 1986 Sean Connery/Christopher Lambert film HIGHLANDER it highlighted the incredible range of musical output the band were capable of, being best known for their rock music output.  It became a poignant and wistful anthem for the great Freddie Mercury who died only a matter of 5 years later. It is the most incredible song and in this arrangement combines symphony orchestra, with rock singer, rhythm section and for added value optional SATB chorus, bringing an additional  texture to what is already an epic piece. The Youtube link below (in the lower key of C# Minor) illustrates the power of this version in an incarnation recorded during lockdown in 2020 with the combined forces of the Welsh National Opera orchestra and chorus and Welsh, TV stage and Hollywood actor star Luke Evans.  All individual tracks and performances were recorded in their singers and musicians own homes, then mixed, spliced and compiled into what many have now come to regard as a classic. Both this and the WNO version were arranged by John Langley and pay a respectful tribute to the original version and its composer Brian May. We commend this for any concert of film or popular music with your professional, semi-professional or intermediate orchestra, choir and soloist.  [The choir is optional but the piece is much more epic with one!]INSTRUMENTATION:2 Flutes1 Oboe1 Clarinet1 Bassoon4 Horns2 Trumpets3 TrombonesTimpani2 Percussion [Cymbals / Bass Drum / Snare Drum / Cabasa or small shaker]Piano/KeyboardElectric GuitarBass GuitarDrum KitRock - Tenor SoloistSATB [Optional but desirable!]Strings.

Full Orchestra - Digital Download SKU: A0.869366 Composed by Thomas Oboe Lee. 20th Century,Baroque,Classical,Contemporary,Romantic Period. Score and parts. 89 pages. Thomas Oboe Lee #33639. Published by Thomas Oboe Lee (A0.869366). Instrumentation: 2222-2211-timp-perc-hp-pf-strings. Program note. SYMPHONY No.1, subtitled Fallen Angels and commissioned by Bruce Hangen and the Omaha Symphony Orchestra, is in three movements - I. Prince of Darkness II. Waltz!!!III. Lilith's Lament. The first movement begins in a dark, underground world, the world of the Prince of Darkness. Melodies emerge, growing, evolving gradually ... transforming ... finally, explosively ... into a syncopated danse macabre. The movement ends, agitatedly, in a quasi-scherzo fashion, scurrying from the lower depths of the orchestra to a heavenly cadence in C major. The second movement is a dance for the Prince and Lilith. [In talmudic lore, Lilith was regarded as a devilish being, and as Adam's first wife.] Each segment of this movement begins at first cautiously, and then very quickly reaches an ecstatic outburst of shouts and exclamations. A middle trio section offers a contrast of lyric introspection and contemplation. The third and last movement is rather sad and melancholy. Ironically, it is again in C major. The solo flute coupled with two bassoons is the main feature, with a Gil Evans-like wind choir floating in and out ... The work is dedicated to Miles, the original Prince of Darkness.Audio link: https://thomasoboelee.bandcamp.com/album/symphony-no-1-fallen-angels-1993-rev-1995
